Made it out to our Sunday Market for the final day of the year. Stocked up on dried cranberry/blueberry/cherry fruits, an additional jar of hot sauce, and a few blocks of soap. Absolutely gorgeous, if uncanny, clear October morning on the Oregon Coast.

I haven't been a registered Democrat for 8+ years. I've received more unsolicited texts in the past week than I have in the previous 7 years. No amount of money can fix unappealing or problematic ones. Too often, they are also out of touch with modern life. Too much money in politics.

Food hot take: If it is totally liquid in Form: Put it in a bowl for me If it is a semi-solid: A tortilla or other flatbread is acceptable, but it needs some solid fillers to increase friction/viscosity to compensate for uncertain engineering.

Government services need not perform like private businesses. We deliver goods & services that are not profitable by design, because we're ensuring that the bare minimum is available for everyday people. Where we can, we raise what is considered "minimal" in the name of progress.

I, for one, am fine with government that is not brutally efficient. Public services (and the agencies that provide them) often benefit from taking things slower, allowing more humanity to stretch across interactions with the public, and leave fewer folks in/beneath the cracks as a result.
