A little trip to the island courtesy of Fred & Wee Whisky Shop (well the island of Arran came to us) - Fred was an awesome host & I really loved to two port drams, especially the white stag & sherry cask surprised me too. Kudos to @Arranwhisky & @laggwhisky for a great lineup

I REALLY enjoyed all of the #BenromachWhisky drams on show tonight …. Fantastic to see a 12 year old dram in the portfolio - I loved it & it really gave the older drams a run for their money. The extra ABV really helps. I may have to seek out a bottle 🤔🥃👌🏻

Murray from @LindoresAbbey took Falkirk Whisky Club through the range (solid 1494, sherried Nectere & juicy port Friar John – my fav, like negroni!). Then cask drams: bourbon (❤️👌🏻), apera (❤️🤯) & cognac (🤔). Club voted to bottle cognac 🤷🏼‍♂️ just my luck 😂. Fantastic night – check them out! 🥃🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Enjoyed Holyrood distillery tour today. Lots of interesting stuff going on with yeast & barley combos. Could have showed that more with 3 drams (😤 1 ➕ gin ➕vodka). The SC port cask dram in the bar after was great though. A wee bonus to see Colin in the Tipsy Midgie too 🥃.

#SPEYWhisky Fumare on the palate delivers an immediate citrus and peat attack, like being squirted in the eye when eating a grapefruit 🤣 ... there is charred green wood, dried bay leaves, nutmeg, mint - there is a medicinal note, but more herbal for me than the usual bandages & germoline

#SPEYWhisky finally, the Fumare - in the glass , it's like a Chenin blanc and quite leggy. On the nose I get a metallic peated note, rusty, dry earth, there's a vanilla & pink grapefruit note hiding in there somewhere, mackerel skins too
