Aaaaaand it's gone. In the mids of my very hyperfocused rework rabbithole it got deleted. The timing does low key hurt ngl. But i've read up enough tho get reminded of some forgotten gems and to form a general idea of what to keep, what to change and what to overthrow compeletly.

After the RP i barely drew her anymore sadly :( (I mean, she was the main OC of mine back than) But these are kind of the most "recent" pieces she got which still capture the kind of vibe i'm gonna aim for with her. Sorry i did let u rot for so long, bebe ;A; #oc #kuraiko #KuraikoYurei #fantasyoc

A tired looking woman in a sportsbra, roughly sketched. Having a cigarette in her mouth in hopes to full her lungs with a will to life or something

Dramatic stance, dramatic dress, fullbody piece. Her eyes are closed to prove how emo she still is, lol.
Kinda unfinished but it really speaks to me tbh

Thehehehe. Bad Bitch standing in firely nothing, looking at us with an expression as cold as my long forgotten coffee :3
Remind me to drop her animation as well, thanksies <3

Her <3
Pnecil Sketch with Digital Coloration.
No shittalk this time: To be honest, her being halfway in the shadows, halfway in the lights is the most fitting detail oh her whole self.
Just a broken depressed fuck being moraly grey and trying to get trough.

The thing thats so insidious about using AI this way is that one of the main ways artists get hired are studios looking for art references and they find us and reach out. This is removing a major avenue to get work if they can just generate nameless derivations of our ideas.

Swen Vincke @LarAtLarian

Holy fuck guys we’re not "pushing hard" for or replacing concept artists with AI.

We have a team of 72 artists of which 23 are concept artists and we are hiring more. The art they create is original and I’m very proud of what they do.

I was asked explicitly about concept art and our use of Gen AI. I answered that we use it to explore things. I didn’t say we use it to develop concept art. The artists do that. And they are indeed world class artists.

We use AI tools to explore references, just like we use google and art books. At the very early ideation stages we use it as a rough outline for composition which we replace with original concept art. There is no comparison.

I talked about how we use ML here if you would like to know more:
https://gamespot.com/articles/baldurs-gate-3-dev-embraces-machine-learning-for-tasks-that-nobody-wants-to-do/1100-6531123/

We've hired creatives for their talent, not for their ability to do what a machine suggests, but they can experiment with these tools to make their lives easier.

it’s come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so I’m posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI

recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best.

It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.
