When I tell you Christian nationalism is bad, when I tell you it is an anti-democratic movement that hates women and is a cancer that has corrupted massive sections of evangelical fundamentalism and is here in Australia - this is what I’m talking about vt.tiktok.com/ZSbjYynGT/

Outstanding reporting from #Canada on how deeply embedded Atlas Network partners & people are in trying to get #Alberta to be a separated US pawn. (Note Gina Rinehart is part of the problem there too.) The Atlas Network’s ppl want profit for donors, not your good. See #NZpol links. #Auspol #Cdnpoli

Before immigrating to Canada, Alberta Institute founder McCaffrey was president of the youth wing of New Zealand's right-wing ACT Party.
McCaffrey said he was introduced to Atlas partner Frontier Centre for Public Policy by David Seymour, who directed the think tank's Saskatchewan office before returning to New Zealand to resume his political career with ACT.
Since being elected to the New Zealand parliament in 2014, Seymour has denied his links to Atlas Network, calling questions about his connections to the group a "conspiracy theory."
McCaffrey replaced Seymour at the Frontier Centre's Saskatchewan office in early 2012, went
through the Atlas Network's leadership academy program in 2013, and worked for the Manning Centre from 2014 until establishing the Alberta Institute.
McCaffrey has also been active in the UCP since its founding, including as a member of the party's 2018 policy committee.INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM FOUNDATION
Separatism has gone from an idea on the margins of the conservative movement to one at the centre of Alberta's government.
Over the last decade, a cadre of libertarian think tanks has been instrumental in bringing Alberta separatism into the mainstream, promoting the idea through research, conferences, social media and the press. They've helped craft government policy to prepare Alberta for independence, and to make the threat of secession a powerful "or else" in the province's stand-off with Ottawa.
Connecting this web of institutes and academics are their ties to the U.S.-based Atlas Network, and the revolving door relationship between members of the network and the administration of Alberta Premier Danielle Smith.
Atlas Network is a U.S. non-profit that acts as the hub connecting a global network of about 500
libertarian think tanks in more than 100 countries.

'Drugs, deviance: Questions One Nation frontman will not answer about his past
Jo Scott, ex-partner of One Nation's Victoria leader Warren Pickering, lifts the lid on his past. Picture: Scott Radford-Chisholm

Jo Scott's explosive claims are supported by handwritten letters and texts from Mr Pickering apologising for his behaviour when "on the shit",
"on the gear" and "using substances".
During a low point in their relationship in 2011-12, he wrote that "the drugs" were responsible for his self-described "sexual deviance".
"After I'v (sic) come down Im (sic) disgusted in myself & vow never again," he wrote.
Ms Scott said she and Mr Pickering used marijuana and amphetamines including highly addictive ice in the homes they shared with their daughter and her A member of the couple's social circle at the time told The Australian that they witnessed Mr Pickering smoking ice at a "party house" in the west Gippsland town of Garfield on numerous occasions between 2006 and 2010.
In a letter from Mr Pickering traced by Ms Scott to early 2012, he alluded to using illicit substances and how this affected his "unorthodox ... ideals" of love.
He wrote: "I'v (sic) been talking to people about my own sexual deviance when on the shit & it turns
In April 2012 he wrote to Ms Scott apologising for the sexualised behaviour "that I bullshitted about, again, even after you already new (sic) about the whores. What's worse is the times I lied about where I was when you knew something was up anyway. Im (sic) sorry for all the lies I told other people that made you look bad just to make me look better."

Homeschooling and the Victorian Cult Inquiry
This morning, I saw a video in which the Australian Christian Lobby's Jasmine Yuen raised alarm over the recommendation, from the Victorian Parliamentary Inquiry into cults and fringe groups, that special care be taken around homeschooling. I'm a homeschool kid. I was homeschooled using the ACE curriculum. I'm also the co-founder of the Australian Cult Survivors Network. Ya girl has thoughts. This isn't an issue of religion. This is an issue of child protection. Let's get into it.

Extremist Christians are selecting One Nation as their vehicle. Our rights are on the line.
Australia has long maintained separation of church and state, with no established religion. In that context, progressives sense that coercive Christian politics are not a threat here. Question that.

There’s been a lot of talk in this race about what makes a "real man." A man does what’s right when no one is watching. He upholds his commitments to his family and neighbors. He doesn’t lie, cheat, & steal his way through life. Real men serve others. Weak men serve themselves.

It's quite likely all Hanson has ever wanted is to harvest electoral public funding money without the responsibility of actually running anything. (You get paid $3.49 per vote if you get over 4% in any Federal election - one Nation stands to collect maybe $18 million if their current support holds)
