~2 months for a single complaint "against" trans people to close gender affirming surgeries for an entire country. 7 months just to get a hearing date on action "for" trans people. UK is shameless 🤷‍♀️

The Labour Party’s women’s conference on 26/9/26 was an embarrassing farce, with only 200 delegates of the 1,000 normal attendance (no major unions) in protest of the Labour Party’s shameful abandonment of trans people following the legally absurd ruling of the Supreme Court in FWS in April 2025.

Which court ruling? I keep seeing comments about "legally he must use the women's" but the guidance doesn't apply to workplaces so why, what has changed of late?

The rollback of trans and non-binary protections should concern all of us. Minority rights don’t exist in isolation. If one group’s protections can be rolled back, others cannot assume their rights are permanently secure. Solidarity matters. #TransRights #HumanRights #Solidarity

I'd love for someone legally knowledgeable to comment on this. The GI post says that Workplaces must offer Single Sex *or* Single Lockable, and that's lawful. If places offer Single Gender *and* Single Lockable (like a WC), then how is it lawful to expect the cis people to use the third space?

> When providing toilet and changing facilities, service providers must ensure they haveconsidered the needs of all users. This includes those who for reasons of religion or belief do not want to use trans-inclusive facilities. Imagine replacing "trans" with any other characteristic here 🤦‍♀️

> Maybe not going to the club is best So we slowly erase ourselves from public life because *every* club around me is taking the same policy. What a time to be alive in Great™ Britain 😅

Their arg is that it's not discriminatory because 'alternatives' (a third space; just a wc + shower) were given. The doc does read "less favourably". They ignore any questions about perception / how they apply their single sex policy. Knowing lawyers are like £1k, how would you proceed?

Ya I get you, I was wondering specifically what you do when they won't say "why" they approached you. I.e. they're assuming sex based on appearance but won't admit it. They offer single occupancy disabled toilet which I think is lawful - but I don't want to enable that segregation 🤷‍♀️

I appreciate it's niche I'm not trying to be difficult - just specific. They didn't approach me to "make enquiries". They just told me to not use single sex facilities, and they continue to ignore my questions on why they conversation was had specifically with myself.

"2. Ask for the policy in writing - if a venue claims they have a lawful reason to exclude you, ask them to show their policy and explain exactly why the exception applies to you specifically." Does anyone know what best to do when they just ignore this question?

REMEMBER The guidance coming into effect today doesn't dictate what you're allowed to do as an individual. It for service providers and business owners. Do not cower in fear, do not reduce yourself, do not isolate, that is one of the intended effects.
Photo taken at a protest, he background is tall old buildings of a city centre, a lightskined hand is holding a sign with a trans flag painted on it that says "fuck your "respect and clarity""

Sure but to what end? I've spoken with every club near to Bedford from Priory out to Grafham water it's exhausting 😅 The one I drove out to last weekend has a trans daughter herself and still says she can't do anything. Boycotting just means I'm removing myself from public life!

Maybe I'm going about it wrong but I'm sick of being asked to leave *after* the fact, so I'm asking clubs/pools/gyms upfront instead. So far, not a single sailing club will have me. I'm glad folks are calm but I don't understand how this isn't affecting others. I miss the water 🤷‍♀️

"Email your MP and tell them to stand against a thing that'll grant them easy legal access to loads of money" I appreciate the fight but this isn't going to work - who would willingly stand against their own interests? There must be some other route for contesting this, no?

Over £1m in funding last year for sex mattress, with a core goal of something something sex/male/female/biology - none of which they can even remotely begin to define. Kinda clear that their *actual* goal is attacking minority groups instead 🤷‍♀️

Are you having fanatical thoughts about other people's crotches?
Has hating a minority group become your entire personality?
Do you obsess over other people's toilet use?
If so, you could be a danger to others - it's time to seek help.

This whole drive isn't about 'the gays' or 'the trans' dummy, it's an attack on human rights in general, particularly women's rights. The next steps after trans people isn't to attack other LGBTQ areas, it's removal of abortions and other womens healthcare rights. A pity most of you don't see that

Hold onto your "tough" for the next steps of this funded hatred spreading from manic religious orgs. You can preach about the rights of women and girls then, when you've no access to autonomy or abortions, age of consent prior to marriage, or whatever else comes next in the playbook.

If I'm not mistaken the above isn't quite the "correct legal choice". The guidance is absolutely shit and riddled with double exclusions for binary trans people who's "sex" can deny them "gendered" treatment, and their "gender" can deny them "sexed" treatment. Basically just straight up erasure.
13.146 For example, a trans man might be excluded from the women-only service if the service provider decides that, because he presents as a man, other service users could reasonably object to his presence, and excluding him is a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim.

13.147 A legitimate aim for excluding a trans person from a separate or single-sex service for their own sex might be to prevent discomfort or distress for other service users. Service providers should consider whether other service users could reasonably object because they are worried about sharing a single or separate-sex service with someone who appears to be of the opposite sex.

Ten years ago in the UK, even conservative MPs were supportive of self ID and warned about the dangers of trans bathroom bans in the US. Now a center left labour government is implementing a nationwide bathroom ban by fiat on August 5th without even so much as a vote.
