I visited the Timbers a few years ago! Missed where to head pre-match, though. For its music heritage, Detroit is high on my US hit-list, so a good fitba fanbase there is great to know about!

If I wasn’t a lifelong Portland Timbers supporter for 51 years I would be a Minnesota United supporter because their SGs do some of the best pride merch and tifos in the league. Like my SG and their SGs are tied for first in best pride stuff. Esp love the Red Loons. Great folks there.

The men's first team (just one of a variety of teams at the new club) are back at the level Clapton FC were at when the fans boycotted, broke away and formed their own club, 3 leagues below. On to the next chapter.

A week on from Clapton CFC's play-off victory, reflecting on the achievement. What a story it's been from the boycott games, to volunteers cleaning up a disused pitch in Walthamstow, taking control of the dilapidated old Clapton ground, and welcoming a crowd of over 2000 to the game last Saturday.

Late Summer, 2018. Makeshift ground entrance at The Stray Dog ground in Walthamstow, for the new Clapton Community FC's first competitive game at their temporary new home - a BBC Essex Cup game against Hutton. A new sign bans dickheads from entry.

July 2020, members of Clapton CFC gain access to The Old Spotted Dog ground, after successfully purchasing it. Clapton FC had been evicted for not paying rent around 2019. The pitch is completely overgrown and the ground is some time and A LOT of volunteer effort away from hosting football games.

May 2026. A full Scaffold stand cheers on Clapton CFC in the men's first team's play-off final against Rayleigh Town. Clapton won the game 4-2 after extra time, and promotion to Step 5 of the English football pyramid. A crowd of 2475 in attendance that day.
Banners read "LOVE CCFC" and "CAN'T HOLD WE DOWN" - a reference to lyrics by local-born rap artist, Kano.
