Recently I've swapped Oban's mountains, lochs and ferries for the big(ish) city of Dundee. It's a very different pace of life, but I'm enjoying discovering somewhere new. It's still slightly mind-blowing that everything is only 10 minutes away.

Over Halloween, I started diving into some classic Hammer Horror movies. I’ve always loved Peter Cushing in Doctor Who and the Daleks, so it was amazing to see him in some of his most iconic roles. Now that Halloween’s passed, I’ve stuck on The Hound of the Baskervilles.

Been digging into some family history and uncovered a shocking truth! My great-great grandad was a communist 😨 Turns out he stood in council elections for the CPGB, and was even the AEU’s secretary for Scotland. AEU later became Unite Just picked up this 1920s AEU badge to honour the old comrade

It really can’t be said enough: Zohran Mamdani overcame huge odds. He defeated a political dynasty, backed by numerous lobbies and 26 billionaires, and ran against a candidate with establishment support from both parties. Yet he still pulled off a historic win.
