I've been having a troubling vestibular problem since our holiday. I've barely left the house since we got back, apart from when Gavin took me for a gentle walk yesterday, which was a challenge. I'm fed up, missing swimming, and would like it to go away now. (yes, I'm speaking to a GP today)

Have returned home from holiday, after midnight due to delays. My mother has been cat sitting. I am convinced she has ever so slightly moved much of our furniture. I feel insane.

I have to come home today, and return to taking my morning swims at the Better leisure centre instead of here
A view out across the stoney beach and sea from Ierapetra. It’s mid morning, the sky is clear and blue, the sun is to the east, reflected by the calm waters. There are some beach parasols in the foreground.

Leo DiCaprio as an aging, tired Mario, whose broken mental health and mushroom dependence has resulted in him stepping in and out of pipes, unsure what is actively happening and what is a memory. Bowser (Robert Pattinson) has been dead for years. Peach (Anne Hathaway) is crying. Tom Holland is Toad

So many tiny birds in the trees here in Crete! But when they’re all out, they make such a racket that the Merlin app can’t pick them out! Only thing I’ve managed to capture is a collared dove.

#ContentDesign and user-centred design good practices shouldn't go to die on your intranet. In fact it's actually a really good place to start trying a #UCD approach and content design techniques! My book helps you do exactly that. And so many teams have used it. #Intranets #Content #Digital

this is excellent
stigmatizing Rowling’s weaponization of childhood not only requires personal withdrawal for most people, it necessitates something much more difficult: being a giant fucking killjoy. You should tell people discussing the show that you’re not watching it, and why, and you should let yourself openly cringe at your sister-in-law’s Harry Potter tote bag, and you should bring up unprompted that the onslaught of legislation against trans people makes you sad and angry, presuming it does, and you should do this because, not despite, the fact that it will make you look annoying as hell and may make everyone present uncomfortable. (You probably won’t even get the kudos of looking like a cool ally, because you’re still ultimately talking about Harry Potter. Sorry about that.)

Fix your hearts or die? Sure. But also: Fix your hearts and live. Fixing involves doing the work, not having work done for you. People can build the path of liberation from patriarchy, but they can't walk it for you. So, walk the path. Do the work. Be a *man.* www.the-reframe.com/fix-your-hea...

I like this notetaking example. it is a good case of how gender works. Notetaking has never been about producing a transcript. It is a bureaucratic skill in the 20th c. organixarion because it is SENSEMAKING. Those women socialized to take notes? They have been doing men’s metacognition for them

Good digital rights education would cover this- and how the influencer and social media ecosystem has been deliberately used to normalise surveillance and harm. But sadly many people who need to deliver that training, such as teachers, government, are too busy paying into that very system.

Outraged at the ways Nolan has vandalised The Odyssey: - characters speaking English instead of ancient Greek - depictions of monsters that are not even real - use of film cameras, which historians increasingly agree would not have existed at the time - worst of all, he's changed Journathan's name

POSSESSION, one of the greatest films ever made, doesn't work without Neil's performance as the entitled, infantile Mark. He could be white-hot, he could frighten you, win your sympathy, make a joke land when it might otherwise have floundered -- this is a real loss, man. I'm crushed.

Never forget.
How long has it been since you’ve seen the original “Jurassic Park”?
SAM NEILL The last time I watched it in its totality was sitting beside Princess Di at Leicester Square at the London opening. On the other side of me was my son Tim — he was 11 and completely swept away by it, but about the time the T-Rex turns up, Tim started to fart. And the draft was drifting across me to royalty! I spent the whole film in a muck sweat, thinking, “Princess Di is being exposed to the horrors of a little boy’s fart, but she’s going to think it’s me. I am going to be subliminally blamed for my son’s crimes, and I don’t think she’ll talk to me afterwards.” But she was well brought up and never mentioned it.
JEFF GOLDBLUM I love that story, Sam. I’ve heard him tell that a couple of times, and it’s just amazing the lengths that he will go to still blame the boy.
