as someone who’s seen She’s the He, this is a disingenuous way to describe the film. it omits the fact the film stars trans actors and is about coming to terms with one’s transness, subverting the usual trappings of the gender-swapping subgenre. a real shame people are writing it off.

spent the morning with Glorimar Marrero Sánchez’s La Pecera (The Fishbowl). Deeply moved by the articulation of both an individual’s battle with cancer & community-wide sickness imparted by colonialism & how the two are entwined to create something larger & all-encompassing.
