This dude is squatting in my garden. Aptly called a Garden Spider, it's nearly the size of my cat and needs it's own zip code. For real though, these aren't poisonous. They're the sort of dudes you want around. If only they were cute, fuzzy and didn't scare the bajeezus out of me.

One of the norning glories I grew last year. I have a chain-link fence un my yard, and for three months of the year, morning glory vines turn that fence into a privacy wall.

We see the sun as golden. Yet this is an optical illusion. In reality, our sun shines in pure white. Earth's atmosphere scatters the sunlight, coloring it gold to our eyes. That is why sunrises and sunsets appear so colorful. A small miracle of physics. A source of great wonder at nature.
