The idea that people want AI oversight to happen "all of a sudden" ignores years of research, warnings, and policy efforts. The delay hasn’t been a lack of awareness; it’s been because of years of industry lobbying against regulation, political resistance, and inaction.

These were the US military stations in Greenland. Which they 🇺🇸 themselves decided to all shut down. Except one. Until they decided that bigger presence is preferred. Which can happen under existing deals. No threatening of allies or new agreement was necessary. Just a reminder for today.

25 years of 9/11, almost to the hour. I was doing a research project at the @nieuws.nos.nl, I was in the newsroom when it happened. It was a weird and unique place to be. The magnitude was felt immediately. It changed the path for the 21st century. For so many, across the globe. #nineeleven 💔
