Ten years ago today a neighbor asked if I could possibly take care of a puppy for a few days. My heart was still broken after losing my BFF Muffin, but I reluctantly agreed. Then this tiny guy arrived at my door & that was it. He was Oreo & he was home. 🏡🥹💞🥰

Big day - Oreo had a bath! 🛁 He stands on his hind legs in the sink with his front legs on the divider. I was nervous & prepared to bail if need be. Oreo got washed top to bottom, dried off & given more chicken jerky treats than usual. Obviously! 🤭 So proud of him! 🥲🙌🎉

We had a follow up with the vet today & per Dr. Joel, Oreo's an all star patient! ⭐️ His back legs are getting stronger & he's moving much better. Dr. Joel knows Oreo's not a wild man, so I'll watch & see what he's comfortable with. In summation, woo hoo!!! 🙌🥰

Oreo had a mini stroke last week. 😢 His back legs are weak, but functioning. Can't run/jump so we'll work on that. Since I have personal experience, I'll coach & Al will be head cheerleader. 🐊📣 Pawsitive thoughts & good vibes are appreciated. He was there for me, I'll be there for him. 🐾💞🥰

Quick update. It’s been a long week. His incision has been draining and had a seroma on Sun when last at ED. It’s burst through the incision. It’s infected. They identified high volume of wbc and bacteria via microscope. They’re putting him under now to address. They can’t close it entirely as 1/
