I have watched all but 30 minutes of BACKROOMS (I got sleepy) and it's a bit tedious but very claustrophobic and atmospheric. Enjoying it! Can't wait to dig into the LORE.

A fan-fave exchange with beta readers (and personally, my own) is this scene with almost the whole crew, where Sylvan bonds quickly with the scariest robot of the bunch. There aren't many scenes in The Gone Machine with Zev - just a couple - but they sure are memorable. #TGM #Zev #Sylvan #TBBPrompt

“Zev,” he asked, and the bot turned his face towards Sylvan. “What kind of bot are you?”
“Cyberdynelife model number: AZR4700.” The bot answered.
“What kind of bot is an AZR4700?” Sylvan asked.
“Oh, he won’t tell you.” Sterling said, glancing over. Zev was silent, continuing like he had pre-determined a path and was simply executing it. Sterling turned back as Inix explained the needle of the machine to him, and she flicked the on switch, the light on it illuminating.
“You’re not a housebot.” Sylvan said quietly, and whether Zev was listening – or cared to listen – he didn’t noticeably turn his attention to Sylvan. “Or a sexbot or a medbot or a laborbot. You’re not a shopbot. Maybe you’re a custom build?”
“Maybe.” Zev said, mirroring the hushed quiet that Sylvan pontificated in, his voice sounding human on the singular word. He still didn’t look up, and Sylvan found himself studying the make of the bot in front of him. He had synthetic skin on most of his face and wrapping onto his ears, convincing black hair on his head, and skin on his collarbones and chest, but everywhere else seemed to be his robotic cybernetics. His bottom jaw exposed a black carbon-fiber like shape matching the panels on his arms and legs, and his eyes were definitively bot: black with the glowing cyan irises. He looked cyborg, at first glance, as intended. He must have been custom.
