This hasn’t made it to Bluesky yet but Mark Carney made a statement condemning the white supremacists who paraded around Kamloops on Sunday and targeted the Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc community with offensive messages
The cowardly act that took place at Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc yesterday is abhorrent. It has no place in this country. My thoughts are with everyone who is shaken and hurt by this disgusting display of hate.

This week, we will mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. It is a stark reminder of our shared responsibility to confront the devastating legacy of the residential school system and the consequences still felt today. Courageous Survivors shared the truth so that all Canadians could take up the work of reconciliation.

The issue with the 407 isn't that it's privately operated. It is that it was sold heavily discounted & the proceeds were wasted. If the money had been used to build a E-W subway, GO train line, or even a dedicated busway along the 407 corridor, the sale wouldn't have been so terrible.

The thing I suspect is getting missed: selling off infrastructure isn't about raising cash. It's about creating a dividend paying asset class for major pension funds -- like the CPP -- that aren't American and don't tie Canada's pension plans as deeply to the U.S. economy.
