I haven't truly enjoyed a video game in a long time. Thank you #blooddungeon! And @miastodont.bsky.social for the recommendation. And remember: always pick the bouncing ball! #videogames #gaming #bouncingball #midlifecrisis

Screenshot of platformer/bullet game Blood Dungeon. Utter chaos with weird enemies, bullets, flames and god knows what flying all over the screen.

Have you, like me, spent the last 26 years worrying if the Canadian Potato Museum STILL has the display of various potato diseases with potatoes in little coffins? Stop worrying. I checked today. Still there.

Of course, but if your team finds the time to write about this, it would be an interesting read.

For me the most interesting part would be to learn what you measure in your nightly benchmarks and how, any chance for a follow up article?

I keep seeing these blog posts about companies discovering R8 and baseline profiles as if these were well kept secrets. Doesn't everyone enable R8 (and earlier ProGuard) in like the 3rd commit of their app?

That's cool, but also a little bit scary

Thanks, I wasn't aware of this API. For my app the scenario was with jumping to the previous audio file with the ⏪ action - it rewinds to the beginning of the current song and then you have to press it again within 3 seconds (by default).

"Animated Bokeh" has been on my whiteboard for a long time, and this is the result. I thought it would just be for cheesy novelty effects, but it also does lightfield manipulation that was cooler than I expected. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kg_2...

I have taken my old Pebble out of the drawer today, charged it, connected to the new app and there was a firmware update! On a 10 year old device, that's amazing.

Not all pain is created equal: stepping on a nail feels different from a stomachache. We know there are many nociceptor types, but a key question remains: how is mechanical pain encoded across the body by those sensory neurons? Our new work helps answer this. 1/8 www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

Hierarchical organization of mechano-nociceptive pathways revealed by activity labeling

Noxious mechanical stimuli give rise to distinct percepts, from sharp cutaneous pain to diffuse visceral discomfort, yet the nociceptor ensembles that underlie these differences remain poorly defined....

Elderly users may struggle with simple things when operating devices: small buttons, connecting charger, complex apps. Help them by providing accessories like smart covers, magnetic cables and apps for seniors (like @homeraudioplayer.app). #TechTips #SeniorTech #TechHelp #a11y #funny
