Can someone just share some good news with me? Can be anything honestly.

The Tome app is having a high influx of users on their launch day! Which is great for them but of course their servers are going crazy right now! Any readers joining Tome? Add me! (Same username)

Bookshop.org now sells ebooks! That’s huge for readers, authors, and indie book stores! As of now you can only read through their site as far as I’m aware. I am hoping that being able to read them on e-readers will be coming soon. But it’s a step away from …other ebook distributers! #booksky

Better to have a complete draft that sucks than an incomplete draft that sucks. Finish your sucky book, then make it unsucky.

Review of Mer Made by S.T. Lynn, a cosy Little Mermaid retelling with a trans fmc. Full review in image, alt text, and the StoryGraph: app.thestorygraph.com/reviews/fd9e... #booksky #queerromance #queerbooksky 💙📚 🌈📚 🪐📚

This is a cute, cosy retelling of The Little Mermaid for anyone who would've preferred Ariel to stay IN the sea.
While Erika (transfemme) and Ariel were both very sweet, I found the romance a little too whirlwind. However, that was to be expected due to the short length of this story. I would've liked to see more development in the story when it came to the situation regarding the surrounding circumstances in which Ariel had to find a partner to be wed on a deadline. Why wasn't Triton helping her? Why didn't he intervene until it was almost too late? All in all, I did enjoy this quick and easy cosy retelling.

I have yapped a lot on here today and there are a lot of new faces here! So hi! I am Callie, I read and review books. I love fantasy and romance books and most of their sub genres! Reading is political and diverse reading is required. I love finding indie authors and small businesses to support.

One thing I’ve noticed about being on #booksky is that the audience here is SO MUCH WIDER than my little corner of bookstagram. I am finding so so so many new recs that I will probably love that I’ve never heard about on insta or tiktok.

Image of myself. Headphones, French fries, coffee, Reese’s cups, sleepy bugs bunny meme, crying cat meme, and 2 disgusted faces memes. A stack of books and a kindle.

It‘s right to be terrified that they are not even trying to hide where this is all heading. But they are banking on that terror immobilizing us. Be afraid. Be angry. But don’t believe them that we don’t have the power to get in their way. If we didn’t, they wouldn’t be trying so hard to scare us.
