Watching Psycho Killer, a 2026 Disney release which feels like every serial killer movie of the last 30 years was put in a blender. The killer is a hulking brute whose face is never shown, but he's also weirdly chatty with an absurdly deep voice. Inevitably, Malcolm McDowell is in it.

The equivalent of leaving a flaming bag of dog shit on the doorstep of the next production team and expecting them to open the door and stamp on it.

Worth noting that: a) This is by some margin the longest video review I've ever done. b) It's twice as long as any review I've done without using notes. c) I keep remembering things I didn't mention, like the weirdly dated orchestration or co-writer Lee Hall having no subsequent screen credits.

If you want a good laugh, or see what it's like being a delusional schizophrenic, Cats is on Amazon Prime. And it's the version without the fixed effects, so you can see the wedding ring on Judi Dench's human hand.

I watched Lawrence of Arabia in a single sitting but had to break Zack Snyder's Justice League over two nights, and not because it's 20 minutes longer.

The entire school singing Star Trekkin' as though it was a hymn. Incredibly, this was at a state school. The oddest thing I remember from boarding school assembly was the news that two male teachers had got married over the summer break. Everyone thought that meant to each other.

A series starts with a man making a life-changing decision on a milestone birthday to take on a socially questionable new career. The last regular episode takes place exactly two years later, with him at his lowest ebb and his house vandalized. This describes both Breaking Bad and The Good Life.
