Folks gassing up literary fiction and looking down their noses at sci-fi and fantasy because the former is "grounded in real human experiences", then you look at your average piece of literary fiction and the author's notion of how the real world operates is AT LEAST as fantastical as Narnia.

Modern Kujou Sara and Arataki Itto, kissing in a meadow. Sara has short dark hair and is wearing a purple crop top. Itto has crimson horns, silver hair in a ponytail, and a red plaid shirt.

(Note: this post is remarking on the tendency for short characters to be interpreted as "gremlins" regardless of their personality because fandom has some prejudices to unpack regarding short people, so if you're in the replies going "all short characters are gremlins", it's specifically about you.)

I just finished SOTR and I'm just gonna say it. Haydove was the weakest part of the book. There's too much page time saying they love each other and not enough about WHY. Lenore Dove isn't interesting in her own right. She doesn't have space to be -- she's just a love interest.

Know your fandom history, folks! Omegaverse was originally J2 RPF pseudo-incest pseudo-beast Supernatural porn from LiveJournal. True innovators! We stand on the shoulders of giants!

There is consensus in academic literature and internet fandom communities that Omegaverse fanfiction was started and popularized by J2 RPF shipping community writers. J2 is a term used to refer to Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, the lead actors of the CW show Supernatural.
RPF refers to Real Person Fiction, meaning
fanfiction written about real people rather than characters in a story.
Communities on Livejournal and Dreamwidth often hosted "kink memes," a term for online events where participants write a fic based on a prompt they've chosen from a list compiled by the fest moderators.

The earliest known story considered to be part of the Omegaverse genre of fanfiction was a story named "I ain't no lady, but you'd be the tramp," or "Tramp!Verse," posted by Livejournal user tehdirtiestsock in July and August 2010 in response to a prompt (seen below)

AU - Their world is just like ours... except...in their world there are two types of men. One is the alpha male, the other is the bitch male. Alpha males are like any ordinary guy with the exception of their cocks, they work just like dog cocks (the knot, tons of cum etc) The bitch male, is just an ordinary guy without the special cock.
I'd like to see Alpha male Jared, and Bitch male Jensen. Jensen is a snotty prude (think Lady from lady and the tramp) he may be a bitch male but he's not just going to let anybody take a go at his sweet little ass...until he meets Jared... then prudey little Jensen turns cock slut for Jared. Bonus points for J2 being OTP, Jensen was a virgin before Jared, and now that they met each other, it's for life.
Completely up to you if mating happens just anywhere like in the middle of the sidewalk, in a park etc or on a more private level. (7)

THEM: This group of characters is a Found Family™, which is exactly like a related-by-blood family, so only the one I've decided is the Mom and the one I've decided is the Dad are allowed to fuck, and shipping any other pairing is literally promoting incest. ME: That's kind of hot. THEM:

So they're like a found family, except explicitly modelled after the American nuclear family, like that one's like the mom, and that one's like the dad, and those two are like siblings. What? No, they're definitely fucking. Yeah, they refer to each other as siblings while they're doing it.

‼️CICINMAGE JUMPSCARE‼️NEW ITTOSARA FIC‼️ A divergence in streamer au: What if Kujou Sara had asked Arataki Itto to kiss her, as a prize during that first Genius Invokation TCG match? archiveofourown.org/works/64369222

A screenshot of an AO3 Ittosara fic.

never been kissed
cicinmage
Summary:

In chapter 14 of a stranger whose laugh i could recognize anywhere, Kujou Sara thinks that she should have kissed Arataki Itto at the archery range; she should have chosen their first kisses as the prize in the Genius Invokation TCG match.

What if she had?

Or: In which Kujou Sara gets jealous, gets a small mountain of chocolates, and gets Arataki Itto's first kiss.

I think it was either Holi or Stella back on Twt who said that if Yae Miko light novelified Ittosara, Itto would be the genki girl and Sara would be the ice prince who melts (in annoyance) when she shows up. I've named them Ichito and Saramu.
