RE: mastodon.social/@nixCraft/117372672… I have countless issues with Christianity, but I want to recognize that Pope Leo holds the moral high ground on a lot of important stuff right now. This is what spiritual leadership looks like.

"Simplicity is purity. It is facing the true nature of things and embracing it, instead of filling a hole inside you with chaotic activity or an overabundance of stuff. Simple, straightforward, meaningful - these words describe freedom, not limitation - intensity, not distraction - a life fully […]

in terms of work in media production: rather than provide all these tools so we can all generate generic stock music, it would be so much more useful to use whatever tech we have to improve searchability of stock material. there is so much music out there on these platforms and it's just […]

Turns out this is a finance/econ account now. This from Kyla Scanlon's "In This Economy: How Money & Markets Really Work" ..... yeah, pretty much. 🫰

Two highlights in a book:

"People shouldn’t have to become real estate speculators in order to live a comfortable life."

"By allowing the already rich to prevent the value of their [housing] investments from ever going down, the developed world has sleepwalked into an unenviable situation: one of stratified incomes, reduced opportunities, and worse outcomes for everyone."
