TV critics' long national nightmare is over: Rhea Seehorn finally is Emmy-winner Rhea Seehorn.

On top of being a Menken/Ashman banger, Friend Like Me may be the best *performance* of a Disney song, so it gets my vote.

Shouldn’t an easy way to determine if there is a shy Paxton bloc is to see if he outperformed his polls the previous times he ran statewide?

Then you also avoid the jarring change from Jake Lloyd to Hayden Christensen. They are practically different characters so Attack of the Clones has to start that character arc essentially at zero again.

Maybe everyone was just waiting until the primary, but I figured everyone would want to poll NH after that one with the Sununu lead.

Yeah the deep red state senators need to be scared. Otherwise the votes simply do not exist.

The NYT debt collection story’s mere existence caught my eye. NYT typically doesn’t do stories like that on safe seat senators up for reelection.

Interesting to go back and find those shadow Oscar performances. I recently watched The Way We Were for the first time (a huge hit in its year) and am fairly sure it coming out the same year as The Sting (BP winner and an even bigger hit) helped get Redford his only acting nom for the latter.

Everyone have a nice two days and get it out of your system, because between Tuesday and Election Day, we are not doing the Bsky "You have to EARN my vote" and "I live in a blue state so my protest vote is fine" and "The two parties are the same" thing. Take all that look-at-me shit somewhere else.>

Why do you think Hathaway goes lead? I’m pretty skeptical that vote splitting is a problem if they want to push her and Morton in Supporting considering how many movies have successfully pulled double nominations in recent years.

The alligator jumping on the riverboat and the hardcut may be the hardest I’ve ever laughed at a Disney movie. The songs are also pretty good and Keith David is an A-tier Disney villain. Haven’t seen it since Blank Check covered it.

Incredibly frustrating how the 2021 recall and this year’s Gov primary exposed huge vote splitting problems (I.e., candidates winning with very low pluralities) in the CA system and there’s no desire to make any fixes since the disasters didn’t happen.

perhaps because of their own media diet, pundits saw the 2024 election as an overwhelming rebuke of "woke." but ACTUAL VOTERS were not thinking in those terms. their calculation was overwhelmingly, "biden/harris is responsible for inflation, trump will make me rich."

And that’s before we even consider the map expanding beyond the seven swing states if Biden stayed in; decent chance New Mexico, New Jersey, and Virginia would have at least been in serious danger. Minnesota too if it weren’t Klobuchar running that year.

Frankly a minor miracle that the senate is only 53-47 GOP; could have easily been 57-43 with small vote shifts in the swing state senate races. I suppose that’s the impact of Harris being at the top of the ticket instead of Biden.
