I spoke to a dozen professional concept artists working in games about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs easier, even if it's just used in "very early ideation stages." Zero said "yes." Most said it made their job harder. I learnt a lot about concept artists. You should too!

And first time using the CSP timelapse oddly somewhat eased my impostor syndrome a bit seeing how much more competent it makes the whole process look than what it absolutely wasn't. (excuse the aspect ratio, was staring at the screen trying to force out a doodle of anything before he appeared)

Welp, spent most of this year just turbo-lurking again, but thankfully Inktober got me to loosen up the wrists, to get that 2x streak going. No narrative throughlines this time, but a theme very quickly snuck its way in there and was a ton of fun to draw, despite the total lack of lore knowledge.

Discord recently partnered with a Generative AI called DomoAI and apparently they’re in every server but sneakily don't show up in the member list.

However they still use the art/images sent in the server to train their AI.

To bypass this, people have found the AI’s ID so we can ban them.
The AI has already been banned in this server, but for anyone here who has a server or is in another art/creative space, please use this advice and ban the following ID using the /ban command.

Lacks opacity by default, so figured to keep it to single layer and judging shades by eye, which was probably a bit dumb for one so babby-brain in all things colour theory. But mostly stuck to a sort of tetradic colour scheme I rate turned out pretty dece!

Man, I wanna do a practice study of your art sometime, your work is amazing. The understanding of form, flow, colour, composition, materials and cloth, lighting and subsurface scattering is insanely good, and the scenes are so candid and realistically grounded. All topped off by super cute ladies!

Hemlo peeps on Bluesky. Not in my nature to self-promote, much to my own detriment ('swhy I had like, 30 followers over at the bird), but figured should at LEAST be posting my more recent stuff instead of just perma-lurking, while I build up the motivation and confidence to work my next thing.

I understand and like the utility of this feature, BSky, but excuse my pessimistic apprehension given our modern society of it just serving as turbo scrape-bait, until some manner of effective countermeasure has been implemented.
I know it's not productive to outright avoid anything and everything for those reasons, but choosing to start slow for now, with the little faith in humanity that remains.

Not sure if it's because of the noise-cancelling earbuds, or the frequency of my tinnitus (which it's also supposed to help with, apparently), but I've tried a few of these, and sadly, it's making the tinnitus a lot more prevalent and harder to ignore, if not worse. Will look into it some more.
