an effect on difficulty but also vibes! turning slow really makes u feel like a helpless little guy, whether or not the game is all that hard also makes you stay more focused about moving forwards, usually

i’ve had a very similar issue when playing old console fps (mainly halo) on pc being able to flick around and shoot guys that are behind you really has an effect on difficulty

audiosurf was one of those games i played before really playing rhythm games, and understood that good mapping could exist. every time i see games saying you can automatically chart your own songs i just have to assume the mapping can’t be great

all of the games from doom 2016 onwards are pretty different. eternal is mechanic slop, lotta buttons to press. dark ages is simpler than eternal, but has more buttons to press than 2016

granted it is one of those games like parappa where emulating can mess up the timing of button presses. iirc the ps1 version is better to emulate, but you miss out on those extra songs from lives

in deckbuilders, generally a smaller deck can be very powerful as you remove the variance and can just run your same combo over and over. especially if you start with the same deck and are not gaining new cards over the course of a run, i'd imagine each deck may become "solved" after a few runs

considering the ebay prices i was seeing for the ps2 controllers might just be worthwhile to get the djdao- it seems to be well-liked from what i can find i can vouch for their controllers, i have the chunithm tasoller from them and its great 👍
