Fascism is ultimately always doomed to fail because at its core is an Us vs. Them that must be continuously fed a growing Them, which in turn necessarily means a shrinking Us. It’s just so much pain and suffering until the collapse, that any way to defeat it before it defeats itself will be […]

Currently my solution to having too many browser tabs open, is to open more browser windows and spread the tabs across them. Maybe organized by theme or purpose. We'll see how that goes. Surely it can only be an improvement, right?

The debian kernel CVE list that’s making the rounds… this is just normal Linux kernel business, isn’t it? They’ve been outpouring a torrent of CVEs for a few years now. Someone just put about 1 year worth of it on a list and now it’s popping off?

Quite the spectacle to watch countless game streamers awaken their father instinct to a game about raising an exponentially increasing number of children with a wolfgirl mama.

Maintainable software* is developed at the speed of learning and LLMs do not really move the needle on that. the best they can help with is improving quality, but this is also inherently more work and thus necessarily slower. *lots of heavy lifting on the terms here as we aren’t exactly coming […]

Games are fun in part because they are forgiving; if you fail or "die", you just get to try again, until you prevail. Anyway, fruit flies don't play games. If you're a fruit fly you just do fruit fly stuff and die. Until the neigh-godlike creatures of the world map your brains connectome and […]

LinkedIn is the craziest place, man…
Screenshot from LinkedIn showing a post from a research engineer at Microsoft. His post is a picture of a laptop with the caption “got a new macbook, what should I install first?”
The laptop is open and the screen shows a text editor with a file that is just a dozen lines of different API keys to various AI services. These are secrets that absolutely should not be shared with the whole wide web.

Company culture is supposed to be “under promise/over deliver” and in no place do we miss the mark on that more than with the flavor of the tofu vindaloo in the canteen. To say the seasoning is “white” would be an understatement. More like “TV static”.

Almost 10k DPS ball in BALLxPIT. Woah.
A screenshot from the Expedition Ended screen in ball x pit, showing the build of a ball accomplishing 9240 damage per second, and over 10 million total damage. The concept of it is a laser ball that causes the monsters to sprout mini laser balls that in turn perpetuates the effect. This causes a feedback loop of screen-clearing laser raves.
