One of the many horrifying aspects of the whole Epstein scandal is how many of the men who weren't pedophiles were still completely willing to overlook it once it became known. Abusing young girls simply wasn't important enough to them to let it interfere with their business deals and connections.

A great point, and I fear we know why: they don't anticipate there will be elections going forward—or if there are, their outcome will be structurally predetermined. This administration doesn't appear to have any expectation that it will ever be hamstrung or out of power. Not in 2026, not in 2028.
