This results in yet another application of leverage (export ctrl act) to replace law with deals. But this one doesn't seem sustainable (and maybe more bumbling than calculated, unlike mergers, tariffs, etc.). See Andy Hall (at the other place) and Dean Ball (www.hyperdimensional.co/p/what-shoul...).

The legal analysis of the Comey indictment is only interesting as evidence of mens rea to establish govt officials’ criminal violation of 18 usc 241, 242 and 1513e. Dems should be drafting articles of impeachment, not arguing that the case against Comey is unsound. The issue is what you argue about.

The matter-of-fact way she asks what investors should do if Trump destroys Iran. Absolutely wild. "Let's talk about tonight, this deadline that President Trump has set 8 p.m., has threatened to destroy a civilization. How does an investor process that? Is it a bigger upside risk or downside risk?"

Even if it is a "mistake," it can still be a war crime. A person who acts recklessly in causing disproportionate civilian deaths can be found to have acted “wilfully” and thus responsible for a war crime. Read "'Mistakes' in War": papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.... www.nytimes.com/2026/03/05/w...

The trick to not getting bogged down in an unpopular war is to do a lot of destruction and just leave. Taking no accountability for the foreseeable results of his actions is his signature move. Once he realized this “works” with war, he was happy to do war. Blow stuff up, leave, do the next thing.

My new paper on modern AI. I argue: (1) It thinks, and denying this is dangerous. (2) Models are individual alien intelligences. (3) They deceptively activate the intentional stance. (4) We need a socially-supported alien stance to meet this challenge. (5) This includes "analog zones" in law.

And there you have it.
The principal dissent surmises that the President could impose “most
if not all” of the tariffs at issue under statutes other than IEEPA. Post,
at 62 (opinion of KAVANAUGH, J.). The cited statutes contain various com-binations of procedural prerequisites, required agency determinations,
and limits on the duration, amount, and scope of the tariffs they author-ize. See supra, at 8–9; post, at 62–63. We do not speculate on hypothet-ical cases not before us.

People really need to check the opinion for statements like "we are not saying anything about other statutory tariff authorities" before writing that the Court delivered a blow to the administration; if you don't, you are just doing PR for the Court.

you don't need to add caveats agreeing that the head of state abducted is a bad guy before opposing abduction of a head of state by military force. If the rule was any head of government is fair game then the entire world would be a series of decapitation strikes and show trials in foreign courts.

Further premeditated killing by the Trump administration. Labelling the victims of these strikes as "narco-terrorists" does not magically make these attacks legal.
Earlier this morning, on President Trump's orders, I directed a lethal, kinetic strike on a narco-trafficking vessel affiliated with Designated Terrorist Organizations in the USSOUTHCOM area of responsibility. Four male narco-terrorists aboard the vessel were killed in the strike, and no U.S. forces were harmed in the operation. The strike was conducted in international waters just off the coast of Venezuela while the vessel was transporting substantial amounts of narcotics - headed to America to poison our people.

Our intelligence, without a doubt, confirmed that this vessel was trafficking narcotics, the people onboard were narco-terrorists, and they were operating on a known narco-trafficking transit route. These strikes will continue until the attacks on the American people are over!!!!

Whether a president has effectively unreviewable authority to direct the military to murder someone, in boats in the tropics or on the streets of Portland, if he says they’re a threat to the United States is becoming just another issue about which “reasonable” people can disagree.
