Ok, saw an ad with the Dem’s name. They repeated his name, along with a distorted pic of him, then flashed pictures of SCARY MINORITIES, while listing types of crime. (Just pairing crime words with brown people - no sources or actual events cited.) “The Dem isn’t racist enough for Iowa!” Yeesh.

Momma cat finally acting normal and responsible when my mother came to check on the babies - so I guess the crazy is reserved just for me!

A golden tabby mother cat nurses her four kittens inside a cubby that’s a bit too small for her (there wasn’t room for the big cubby in the cage, alas). There are three brown/gold tabby kittens and one light gray tabby kitten.

Night kitten mews kept waking me, but also when I got hours of non-mew sleep THAT soon caused a panic wake. “I like it a bit cool to sleep and kittens want warmth! Did I ruin everything?” Obvs not. It’s a difference of 72°F and 73°F. I’d just woken and wasn’t coherent. Momcat: Cats sleep too, bro.

Kittens from right before bedtime - but they looked the same this morning so I didn’t bother getting a new pic. I did a headcount cuz sleepy me was still worried, and the gray one was yet again using a brownie as a pillow. Pillow kitten was fine too, and everyone complained when I checked! (Again, obviously. I RENIND YOU I HAVE NOT SLEPT PROPERLY IN TWO NIGHTS)

Momcat behaving the same every time, so again a last night pic can represent this morning. Only difference is this morning a kitten was between her front paws for a moment before it went back in the cubby.

Momcat loves attention to the point of being reckless with nursing babies when she jumps up. But until I pull back the privacy curtain the approaching beast could be anyone! So I get greeted each time with a small courtesy hiss and then a happy OH HELLO once I’m in view.

We’re definitely seeing the difference between a first time parent being careful about everything regarding their precious delicate babies… and a mom who’s done this a few times already, so she knows, “Eh, I know they can take it.”

A nursing mother cat jumped up, tossing three of her kittens in the process. The fourth nursing kitten is still hanging on!

A reckless golden tabby momma cat glares at me because I held her back from running out and maybe stepping on her babies in her haste.

One kitten who got dragged by momma slowly works back into the cubby to be with their siblings.

This reckless momma! I'm scared to get close cuz each time I have I saw a kitten who's less than 12 hours old get titty tossed! When I did my usual afternoon broken body crash, I could hear the mom cat purring across the room, then a grunt from her... followed by four babies screaming in protest!

Four babies, and one mom who wants attention so much she sometimes forgets children are nursing and jumps up to greet me, sending younglings flying!

The golden tabby mother cat pokes her head up into the photo, as she left her cage to jump into my lap. Behind her, four newborn kittens (about 4 hours old, three brown/golden tabby and one light gray tabby) scramble around the floor of the cage, trying to figure out where the milk machine went!

Mom-to-be cat is here, and now we hope she relaxes in her cage and produces a healthy litter. (I’m stressing out, obvs, which is surely not helping!)

The sloppily-decorated cat cage, with old tshirts providing privacy screens and an ancient Simpsons towel that can drop and cover half the cage. There are kitty lights atop the cage, to provide light even when it’s covered.

The momma to be - a golden tabby - sits on a mid-level shelf, wondering how she got here.

The highlights of Aylageddon! Ayla the wacky swirly tabby gal is a star, and toys are magnetically attracted to her. She rewards the effect by putting on a show! The greed of her! I have many more pics, that I’ll soon put in a quote post, but these moments of play are standouts!

A medium gray and cream tabby cat is suspended in the air by the two shoelace toys she’s clutching. She’s chomping away at the shoelace braid while using the single shoelace to keep her stable as she hangs from the laces. She once held herself up by the tall scratching post beside her, but greed took over!

Ayla the gray tabby foster kitten has flopped over on the collapsed cloth basket, and has all four paws on a catnip mouse toy. She is locked in on it, as a single tear rolls down her face. (She received eye meds.)

One more note: Everyone around me SHOULD understand I'm only capable of being in "driving condition" 2-3x a week. If I'm active many days in a row, I begin to break down severely. And not only have I been driving every day for a week, but it was after illness and before an overdue vital treatment.

This cage was meant for overflow kitten temp stays. Small, but vertical - and babies love to jump! See Little Stuff testing it out? Clearly it’s for kittens if she seems the max allowed cat size! For a new mom, everything has to be on the ground level! It’s a bad match, but I’ll do what I can.

My cat Little Stuff was tossed in a freshly-assembled cage so the foster group could gauge the actual size of the space. The cage is the largest one could get at a decent price range that can be rolled between rooms and folded down for transport, but even tho it’s practical, I know it can only hold babies. I just didn’t expect in-the-process-of-birth babies!

My “fixed up” cage, using my old scrap tshirts to build a privacy curtain for a litterbox - tho, cuz my cats are on the large size, none of the ones I have here can fit in there along with the mother cat’s cubby - and other tshirts as cushioning for the three platforms in the vertical space. With the mom cat, one platform will be for food and water, and she’ll probably ignore the rest to stay in the cubby with her newborns.

One thing that scares me is mention that they’ll be with me long enough that kittens will begin to explore upper levels! I’ll have to build a walkway or three!

Because Belle showed potential, no one wanted to startle her any more... so when an emergency foster situation arose, Belle got to stay in the mini-catio, and the new kitty is going to stay in a 2'x3'x4' cage in my bedroom. And it's a heavily pregnant kitty, who can pop at any moment. Oh my.

Belle’s very scared of people, but also likes to play and is gentle enough she’s never lashed out, so she’ll get a chance to socialize. We put Cal in there for a while, and he was super friendly to this very surprised lady! Plus, with him as a buffer, mom was able to pet Belle some. Progress!

Belle, a playful but highly anxious fluffmonster 5-month-old kitty doesn’t know what to do when the human brings a 2-month-old kitten to her! She smooshes herself into a corner as Cal watches her from my mother’s arms.

Gray and white shorthair kitten Cal invades gray and white longhair kitty Belle’s personal space, and our anxious gal isn’t sure what to do! Cal is very sweet to her and keeps cuddling as she tries to process that having the other kittens around was actually her wish, so she probably should chill.

Today was a kitty day. Let’s add up some unlucky black cats! Crescent was clinging to my mom today, as she wanted cuddles over toys. The brothers Gibbous and Eclipse decided they wanted to hang in *my* lap as counterprogramming to Crescent! All three got together in a cubby when it was naptime.😻

Crescent, the little girl of the black cat trio, looks disinterested as a toy mouse is dangled for her. It’s more like my camera distracted her, as she promptly attacked the mouse after.

Black kitten bros Gibbous (big boy looking away) and Eclipse (mid-sized child with white on his chest, looking at me) have piled into my lap, maybe because their sister had claimed my mother’s lap.

Three black kittens squeeze themselves into one fluffy bed in a catio cubby. Eclipse is curled up in from. His sister Crescent is in the middle, with perspective making her tiny head look the biggest. Biggest bro Gibbous is in back, about the curl around and squish his siblings as he flops on them!

And here’s Crescent during her mostly-in-focus moments! (Or what I think is Crescent! Context from other pics means I’m certain for three pics, and odds are decent for the other!) Eclipse is next, whenever I’m not so sleepy. 💤🐈‍⬛💤

Crescent, the tiny sister of the three black cat siblings, is flailing around on her back as her brother Gibbous moves in to pounce. A mouse toy started all this but got knocked away during the flails. (I see a mouse toy in the background, but no kitten does!)

Crescent, the world’s most perfect precious baby kitty, poses as she relaxes on a platform in the catio. Did I mention she looks and acts like my cat Little Stuff, who is a legendary naughty child (complementary)! Little Stuff is gray and Crescent is black. With some photo editing, I could slide a Little Stuff pic in and fool some folks despite the 14-year age difference!

A pouty-eyed black kitten sizes up a shoelace draped over her. Or him. This could be Gibbous??? He’s twice Crescent’s size, but we don’t have size context here! Photos from the same time show Crescent’s brothers elsewhere in the catio, but I can’t be sure!

This I *know* is Crescent, the tiny cutie black kitten, as it’s part of the same sequence as the “posing on the platform” pics. Just like my Little Stuff, she goes from precious to murder baby rapidly! Here she wasn’t even trying to eat my flesh, but happened to bound to where my hand was and chomp me by accident!

Gibbous was a star with today’s photos, as I appreciated this wild child taking a few moments where he was still enough to be photographed. (Li’l Crescent also had moments of pausing for pics. Even tho Gibbous is twice her size, without the other for comparison it becomes hard to know who it is!)

Gibbous, the big strong boy of the three black kitten siblings, is also a sweetheart who’ll sit by me and wait for attention, giving soulful meows as encouragement.

Just look at this darling expression as he looks up at my hand!

Gibbous the burly and kind foster kitten hopped onto a platform in the catio to investigate a mouse toy and my glasses. You can tell it’s him by his broader muzzle, and I’m glad cuz that perspective makes it extremely hard to tell him and his much smaller sister apart!

When Ayla is dethroned from claiming this beloved spot, Gibbous takes over the collapsed cloth basket and the toy bonanza! But he gets too into it and launches himself into flying pounces of the mouse toys, so Ayla can sneak back. Gibbous is being distracted in this very photo, come to think of it…

Remember Tawny, the Weird Aunt who helped raise the dragon horde kittens? She was meant to go to the cat cafe, but when she stayed with a foster while paperwork was getting done she…adopted some new kittens who were there. So she’s now a PROFESSIONAL WEIRD AUNT foster helper with the adoption org!

Tawny the tabbico cat wasn’t a mother! She was just there when the dragon horde and their mom were trapped, and was kind enough to come along with them! Here she lays in the catio, thinking about her choices…

Today the foster kittens were gifted new catnip mice, and they were a BIG hit! It was one long game of everyone in the catio stealing the brown and blue mice from each other, while Belle in the mini-catio behind was having the time of her life crashing around with her own mice. (More in alt text.)

Look at this kitty cold war! Both had to be good while I was petting them, but when I reached away to sip my drink, I was gone long enough they felt they had permission and hissed and swatted at each other! (Briefly. Porch cat promptly went back to her usual downstairs rest spot.)

Pirate and the porch cat on the couch together, each on one side of the kitty couch fort border. Each has extended a paw in slow motion, but isn’t doing anything with it because I’ve been petting them both together.

A wider photo of the two rival cats on the couch together. They are uneasy, but I’m not letting them fight.

Porch kitty seems almost mad I’m petting her and keeping her tame. But she’s not a fighter and Pirate is twice her size, so this is the good outcome! (Neither cat was interested in a fight even when I got distracted and the confrontation happened. They just hissed and swatted the air before the porch cat went back to her spot under the standing desk.
