Maybe every writer started out as someone throwing messages in bottles out to the sea, hoping they reach anybody at all. Maybe every person started out that way. In what is now an impossibly vast sea of bottles, is it still plausible to believe any expression will actually reach anyone?

I'm sure there's a balance that can be struck though, a healthy engagement that just pays close attention to not tipping over to either side. I personally barely use social media but then I also feel quite disconnected from everyone and everything, so easy for me to say.

Kind of hard to draw a line between 'engaging because I want to' and 'engaging because I feel I have to' sometimes, but that's why algorithms are such a curse. The more you engage, the more it shows up, to the point when you wanna disengage you have to actively ignore.

Didn't ever watch the guy but there's something incredibly eerie about how the content and comments only a few days old exist in this sudden vacuum, this before and after. Decently praised and liked until the perspective completely shifts. Kind of a crazy, saddening whiplash even as a 'bystander'.

If there ever was a game that felt like 'yeah obviously that influenced you' it would be Shadow the hedgehog. It's not something I can necessarily logically explain, it's a vibe. Should sit down and play it myself, I know too many Sonic games by heart without having had the chance to play them yet.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky I started learning English through this game, it showed me what stories in video games could be like, helped me appreciate the beauty of expressive spritework that I still miss nowadays in the 3D age... It all started there and I never stopped.

Oh absolutely, it's a very double-edged term that gets thrown around for the wrong but also the right reasons. Being aware of it just makes it tougher in my experience to tell whether a person will weaponise it into a right-wrong contest or to motivate more thoughtful engagment and discussion.

I just kinda get a knee-jerk reaction to the term at this point because whenever it gets mentioned it's like it's gonna turn into a competition where nobody wins. Anyone bemoaning a lack of media literacy usually makes it less about passion and more about stupidity, to the point I'd just avoid them.

Frustration at feeling stuck in life. Frustration at not knowing how to get unstuck. Frustration at the fact I'm not good enough to put into action. Frustration at the fact I should be better than this already. Frustation knowing the value of self-love, but only being a natural at self-hate.

With some games I'd prefer giving no rating but then I'll never find em again with how many games I have played by now, so ratings it is. I did recently translate my scale of 7 to the actual star ratings cause I found mentioning the rating in the actual review again breaks the flow, so that's neat.

I haven't played much, but one thing that immediately struck me is that the hammer sounds a lot less satisfying compared to past games. Luigi as an AI companion also kind of makes him feel more disconnected from me as a player. I guess I'd give it a 7/10 for now, but hoping it surprises me later on.

This reminded me of some German tv ad I saw where the camera's where literally flying like birds. Dunno what the ad was for anymore, some info protection thing, but this is essentially that with a bit more pigeon.
