Holy shit. Someone has decompiled the Adobe suite, rebuilt it in Rust and released it as open source. Either all software is dead or the US copyright laws are about to receive an update. getartcraft.com/apps

Having developed a a website, iOS and Android app I am reasonably happy with, using significant AI assistance, it is still blowing my mind how many of my 30+ years of experience I have to augment the AI with. “Oh you didn’t do that comparison in a case insensitive way”….Really?

I can’t decide if people who assert that contemporary AIs can think or are conscious do so out of fear or out of envy. But I can say that any such people do so either out of emotion or perhaps driven by some pecuniary interest in it being true, not from any fully informed or defensible position.

You know one way of stopping AI agents from accessing Australian government data would be by making them have MyGov accounts.

I know this has been said before, especially after repeat wins. But you look at the Brisbane side and even with players exiting you don’t see a lot of reasons they can be up there again next year.

Just to be clear. All of the major AI companies can stop hacking instantly. If they don’t, then surely their intent is right there.

Something that fascinates me from a psychological perspective, is that every single person I know, including me, outright lies, or pretends they really still were watching when they nod off during a TV show.

AP Stylebook warns against anthropomorphizing AI systems: “Avoid language that gives them human characteristics… Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.”
APStylebook @APStylebook

Artificial intelligence systems do not think, feel, want or understand. Avoid language that gives them human characteristics. This is called anthropomorphizing, when we ascribe human traits, emotions or behaviors to non-human things, such as animals or inanimate objects.
Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.

Blows my mind how quickly AFL footballers adjusted to basically stop dangerous tackles. Far from "ruining the game" they still tackle extremely effectively, and then have the skill to (most of the time) slow the momentum to reduce the impact. Should be celebrated.

Furious that Chris Nolan would disregard historical accuracy in adapting The Odyssey by making a "movie" with "cameras" instead of memorizing the entire story and then going on a nationwide tour to sing it to us while tripping on ergotized barley

OpenAI has launched it's first hardware device. A $230 mini-keyboard that integrates with Codex. It has light-up indicators showing agent status and customizable shortcuts for frequent Codex actions. It also has a dial to adjust the computing power an agent dedicates to a task. This is so random.
