We've had so much focus on the Odyssey this year (rightly so!), but what of the ancient lore of our own islands? The Mabinogion contains some of the core tales of our ancient land, including Arthur. If you loved Lord of the Rings, this is essential reading. #books #livres #mythology #mythologie

Fascinating visit to Snowshill Manor and Gardens on the way home from Murder at the Abbey. An eccentric collection of bizarre artefacts – the manor not the writers at Murder at the Abbey – that is well worth a visit.

I also want to add what a privilege it is to be a part of the crime writing community. They really are the loveliest, most supportive people, and it was a joy to be in the same event as such brilliant writers and to appear in front of a warm and engaged audience who'd travelled from near and far.

Plaque to Rose Valland at the Jeu de Paume, the most decorated woman in French history. It is thanks to her that so much of the French art looted by the Nazis was recovered. In The Art of Occupation, Eddie has to gain Rose's trust to find a missing collection. www.orionbooks.co.uk/.../the-art....

After Eddie ran from Place des Pyramides and refused to hide in St Roch church, he came to this building on Rue de Richelieu, where someone opened the small side door to let him in. It was a much more fitting sanctuary for him. Any guesses where it is. www.orionbooks.co.uk/.../the-art....
