The best cycle lanes are wide, beautiful and completely separate from other roads. This type of infrastructure is common here in the Netherlands. They often connect cities and offer a great alternative for driving.

Burg Reigerstraat in Utrecht is a fietsstraat, a cycling street where bikes have priority and cars are considered guests. By keeping speeds low and designing the street to feel comfortable for riders of all ages, it creates a calmer, safer environment.

Bike parking like this could set the standard for residential areas. Falco (#DCEnetwork) has completed a new bicycle parking facility in Ishøj, Denmark, with space for nearly 280 bikes. The project combines covered shelters with open-air racks, to maximise convenience and space efficiency.
