The snowball is definitely starting to roll...
A screenshot of a Google "AI Overview" showing a quote "Yes, a ZFS RAIDZ2 vdev can increase sequential read speeds..." with a citation bubble referencing an "Unraid" forum post with the title "What chatGPT said about zfs pool speeds"

This is such BS. I'd maybe be okay cutting oil companies a break if things were such that using TMX wasn't profitable, but the agreement should be "if you're making BANK, then your costs to use TMX go up" so that we get our fair share of that and pay it off. We're getting ROBBED.

The government would need to step in and stop us getting gouged by grocers, landlords, utility companies, banks - the list just goes on and on. It's impossible. This is what Capitalism does and will always do.

This is a great idea! That should be more than enough money to sew the remaining 76 southern resident orcas back together after they're all chopped in half by your oil tankers! You're the right leader for this difficult time, sir.

Co-ops are great, but they require a lot of effort to set up and time to run, and that's just a lot to ask from busy people who just want to live their lives. I feel like this is why we have government, for them to run things, so we don't have to. Co-ops are a workaround for their *failure*.

We all need to eat. Why did our society choose a system where we're all forced to buy from someone profiting off that? Where we all have to work 2x, to pay 2x, to line the pockets of some rich corporate shareholders? Sending out a cheque isn't a long-term solution. Selling us food at cost is.

Chris H @chris-huggable.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
How about we talk about how much of the *profit* that Canadian *workers* creating it get? You act like working for the benefit of some rich oligarchy is everyone's ultimate end goal in and of itself.

I lack faith in adding regulation when they're already all totally ignoring existing copyright law with zero consequences.

That article was at least attempting both sides until the author dropped "The war started with a brutal Hamas attack" - yeah, let's just state "they started it" and not talk about the "open-air prison" for decades. Like, can any western media ever report on this shit honestly? 🙄

Fun facts: 🔥Since 2007, BC’s climate pollution has decreased by 2.3 million tonnes. 🔥Approved LNG export projects will increase BC’s climate pollution by 21.2 million tonnes by 2035. 🔥This is ten times more pollution than we’ve managed to cut in nearly 20 years.
Trends in BC's greenhouse gas pollution from 1990 to 2023, with two projected futures. Approved LNG projects will increase BC's emissions by 21.2 million tonnes. If we meet BC's climate targets emissions will decrease by 80%. From 2007 to 2023 BC has only reduced 2 million tonnes of climate pollution.

I don't know how much debt they can rack up before it all comes crashing down. I bought a GIC with the meager savings in my TFSA. It pays shit, but let the bank gamble, not me.

We came SO fucking close. So many people are willing to go there. I do not know how to bring society back and get people to care about each other. This is not my expertise.

My #1 concern was to not go full MAGA fascism/racism with PP, and, well... yeah, I guess we dodged that bullet. That said, I do have a line for compromise, and with the environmental disasters now being planned, and the workers rights rollback - it's now been crossed.

Chris H @chris-huggable.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
My choice to vote strategically was made because: I LIVE IN A SOCIETY WITH MANY OTHER PEOPLE. There will be no revolution without them. And I recognize THEY'RE NOT WITH ME ON THIS. They're way right, willing to vote PP, so I aimed for best compromise I could reasonably hope, given circumstance.

He's killing two birds with one stone: 1) Federally, PP/Cons live and die via AB ridings, and he's DECIMATING them to his benefit. 2) He's keeping Canada together by decimating AB support for the separatists at a crucial time. That all said, this plan is still shit, and an environmental disaster.

SO MANY THINGS we could do with that money besides SUBSIDIZING CARS! How about you cap oil companies and RAISE the gas tax to keep prices the SAME and use that money to PAY FOR SOME DOCTORS? Maybe then people could have a FAMILY DOCTOR and ER wait times wouldn't be measured in CALENDAR DAYS? 🙄

Chris H @chris-huggable.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
You're SUBSIDIZING gasoline? How about MAKE TRANSIT FREE!? All you're doing is encouraging more people to drive when they should take the bus or buy an EV. We need LESS cars on our roads not MORE. You're sacrificing the planet and our cities to PANDER for votes. I'm so voting @bcgreens.bsky.social

In case you didn't know, you can buy their grease injection tool to clean it all out yourself at home - it just snaps in while the BB remains installed on the bike. Taking out the crank to do this is made much easier with pinch-bolt style arms (vs press-fit style), which you luckily have also.

1,000 kids in a single state. Countries like France reported 216,000 kids were abused there. This wasn't a few bad apples, it was fucking *pervasive*. The fact that anyone can look at how widespread this was and remain Catholic, or even Christian, is beyond me.

Thanks. I was thinking more than just yelling in the situations, and extending to the conversations you have with motorists later or online. I'm angry there too - and expect that's where the reputation builds. 😆

Chris H @chris-huggable.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
I mean, after years of having a large percentage of motorists show a complete and total disregard for my life, repeatedly choosing to endanger it just to save a few seconds for their own convenience - yeah, I *am* angry. I deserve to be angry. Anyone in this situation would be angry.

I voted for Carney to avoid PP, but he's gone from highly disappointing (enviro, corp welfare, etc) to now, with these labour restrictions, it's all too much. It's crossed a line for me. Rachel is the most prominent media I see calling foul on all this, so I just joined Patreon to support her work.
