Exactly. I had just gotten into the Replacements via the Paul Westerberg songs on the Singles soundtrack. So when I heard them open for Soul Asylum (along with Vic Chestnut), I was hooked. Asbury was pretty nasty back then. I lived 90 minutes away but had to go. Band was super cool/nice too.

Oh man, that show was so elite until the undercover Cylons started all hearing All Along the Watchtower for no apparent reason. The mini-series and first 2ish seasons are still so good though. Also, I wish they got to go deeper with more than one season of Caprica. Might be on an island there.

Lost was dependent on all of these mini mysteries. Smoke monster. Ben & Jacob. What is the Island? Why does the Island move? Dead people. Whispers. Fertility. The numbers. The hatch. The Dharma initiative. I can go on and on. The ending rendered all of them meaningless, unsolved, and unfulfilled.

Lost is on top with a <massive gap> after it. It’s one thing for a show to close poorly (see Game of Thrones). But Lost managed to make the entire plot meaningless. Every intriguing mystery became a giant nothing burger. This made the show terrible to rewatch outside of some nostalgia.
