Whaaaaaaat!? Another one! Whilst looking for Altella lucida at the CWT Penhale reserve, we spotted three "ants" running incredibly fast across some scree. Nope, not ants, Micaria albovittata! Another clifftop rarity being found new to one of the most worked cliffs here! @britishspiders.bsky.social

No Altella lucida here this year, but the addition of Micaria albovittata to the reserve is amazing. Incredible that I've not seen it before during my many visits here.

Great to see Steatoda albomaculata at long last, in high numbers too. Interesting that it doesn't seem to want to move far, a bit like Asagena phalerata which it was alongside. The webs are brilliant, a typical Theridiid snare underneath very low vegetation over sand @britishspiders.bsky.social
