Many young people who've grown up with HIV experience self-stigma. They internalise negative public attitudes around HIV and believe them to be true. This can impact on their mental and emotional health. We're grateful to have been part of this project and to the Chiva young people who took part.

The audit has identified examples of good practice and also gaps in care which will help inform future service development. It highlights the unique needs of young people growing up with HIV.

Yesterday, one of our Steering Group members, Fynn Jordan, presented results from the Chiva audit which explored how clinics around the UK are supporting young people when they transition from paediatric to adult HIV services.
