I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what job makes me feel the happiest and it would probably be as a librarian

I have the same thought and sometimes when the company send me over to any training, I feel that the coaches overgeneralized things and the teachings aren’t all applicable. But maybe that’s the modus operandi or the coaches aren’t using the best method in coaching.

I joined a meeting with the deposit team. Poking questions here and there. Someone from that team said “seems like you enjoy solving deposit problems?”

Hungary just elected a new PM who wasted zero time — he shut down state propaganda, called out the corrupt officials by name, and started the reckoning on day one. It made me want to write down exactly what that should look like here. So I did. open.substack.com/pub/adamkinz...

Is the groundbreaking idea typically a synthesis of the two poles, or something that escapes the framing altogether? Thanks Ha. This is very enlightening.

Iqbal Yusoff @chipotl33.bsky.social · 09/04/2026
Interesting. These three feel like they’re framed as tensions rather than options. Was that deliberate? Is the “disproof condition” essentially just forcing a design hypothesis to have an opposing pole?

Iqbal Yusoff @chipotl33.bsky.social · 09/04/2026
What does a well-formed disproof condition look like at the ideation stage? Can you give an example of what that looks like in practice?

Is the gap a mindset problem (designers don’t think probabilistically) or a craft problem (they don’t know how to structure a test)?

In your experience, where does this comparison-driven falsification break down? Are there domains where forcing divergent artifacts actually misleads rather than clarifies?
100
Iqbal Yusoff @chipotl33.bsky.social · 26/11/2025
I concur. When you craft a falsifier, how do you avoid ones that are too cushioned or ambiguous? A lot of teams unintentionally create hypotheses that are technically ‘falsifiable’ but practically unfalsifiable because the signals are muddy. How do you force the sharpness?
100
Iqbal Yusoff @chipotl33.bsky.social · 25/11/2025
Ha, how do you frame hypotheses so that prototypes don’t become validation theatre? What makes a hypothesis ‘falsifiable enough’ to be useful?

Very interesting data that shows that bikes are twice as fast compared to motor vehicles in London city. The average speeds of cars around London City is 10kmh (15kmh in Greater London). 74% of car trips are less than 10km. #builditandtheywillcome Source: www.linkedin.com/posts/karimt...

“Over the past 20 years, Paris has undergone a major physical transformation, trading automotive arteries for bike lanes, adding green spaces and eliminating 50,000 parking spaces. Part of the payoff has been invisible — in the air itself.” Leadership, strategy, real action, common sense. #Paris

Paris said au revoir to cars. Air pollution maps reveal a dramatic change.
Air pollution fell substantially as the city restricted car traffic and made way for parks and bike lanes.

OpenAI is a banana republic and a sign that something is wrong in the tech industry. www.wheresyoured.at/whatre-we-ev...
OpenAl is a banana republic, its costs paid by a consortium of desperate investors with nowhere else to park their cash led by SoftBank, a company that had to take out a $15 billion year-long bridge loan from twenty one different banks just to fund the first $7.5 billion of their $20 to $30 billion investment in OpenAl. Oracle is buying (allegedly) $40 billion of GPUs to put in a data center that will entirely service OpenAL, whose $19 billion part of the Stargate data center projects is either funded by SoftBank or paid up front by Oracle and Blue Owl, who will pay data center startup Crusoe $1 billion regardless of whether anyone actually uses the data center.
Oh, and Crusoe has had to take out a $750 million line of credit to build the site out in Texas. This is all so painfully silly! It's all so silly, and I'm the one that people say is silly for pointing it out. OpenAI can't pay its bills, plans to burn over a hundred billion dollars before 2030, and then claims they'll be profitable, somehow, in a way they're yet to discuss or, I'd argue, discover.
I don't know how this ends, but I do know that none of this is logical, reasonable or rational, and when it collapses, regular people will end up footing the bill as the markets get savaged by the consequences of a tech industry driven mad by growth.
