I was backpacking this weekend and we camped on granite for the views, so I constructed this to support my hammock:

@dieworkwear.bsky.social has taught me a lot about menswear, and it’s been really useful during my gender transition. Also now I have a well tailored off the rack sport coat, which I feel good wearing with a more casual outfit because it’s a rougher, patterned fabric.

Tested out my hammock shelter setup in a 23 degree late afternoon in Telluride. Worked great! Can provide detail about my setup upon request, just let me know if you want a neurotypical amount of detail or an annoying amount.

I keep a little grooming kit in my bag because otherwise I’ll make myself bleed picking at hangnails, etc. I sometimes feel ashamed that I need it. But. It just occurred to me that this is a self care kit. I carry it everywhere because I’m worth taking care of. That’s kinda beautiful, actually.

I had foot surgery last year to correct a long-standing issue and now I can walk as much as I want without pain, which is lovely! So I’ve been getting back into hiking and backpacking. Went and climbed half some recently with my sister! View from the top:
