making a frankenstien-like setup work completely fine out of the box is a feeling that ive missed for far too long. really missed doing my oldskool hackery bullshit of hooking up random junk together until i get something that works suprisingly well.

if u wanna experience life as a downtrodden finnish person, obenseuer is getting a really big update in a week or two. plus the story is actually pretty neat same with the other games the dev made.

theres been multiple times in my event where i was more excited to make the poster for the event than doing the event itself lol

i have a habit of trying anyways just cause im stubborn but i still feel that lol

the biggest limit for self hosting wouldnt really be for hardware, support, or even electricity since alot of those are scalable bit rather whether your area can even support the network traffic. so many people are still using copper wire in the us and so really its all up to ur area.

this also isnt accounting for having the knowledge of knowing how to run and network the server properly even if its in a datacenter. as much as i love my artist friends, having a decent amount of networking/server knowledge is required to running something like this.

Im also accounting for uptime, network bandwidth, very poor quality worlds and people, and inhouse support incase shit hits the fan. technically it is possible to do it on a smartphone since realistically its just streaming data but i wouldnt trust it working well at all lol
