I think Krugman has it wrong today - the hate for AI didn't start as a NIMBY reaction to data centers. My great grandmother was born in 1909 and lived to be 103. I can't imagine how one copes with so much change during their life (she was perpetually stuck in the great depression in a lot of ways)
