iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I really like the new little feature where bsky lets you know if someone followed you via those curated lists users make. I've been getting a few follows from the "gore and body horror artists" list lately.

I never talk about personal stuff online, but this year has been a total wash. Maybe I'll get into it at some point but right now things are clearing up just a tiny bit and I am filled with a burning desire to make up for lost time. I miss people. I miss creating! I miss a lot of things!!

My mom would've been 60 on the 1st of this month. It's been more than 10 years and I still feel blindsided every October.

Was walking past this building and through the window saw this backrooms-ass room, so I accidentally took the coolest picture ever due to the window's reflection

A backrooms-ass room with a twilight sky and trees seemingly imposed over it in a dream-like fashion (it's the reflection of the window)

QRP with your most popular piece on bsky

psychedelic abstract gel pen and marker drawing of some hallucinogenic nonsense. One of the most colourful things I ever drew, and certainly the most colourful thing I made on real paper. it got 500ish likes which was neat.

this one was a close second and personally I like it more

highly detailed ballpoint pen drawing of a body horror monster made of flesh and metal and probably also plant matter.

That couple of days was so good I coasted on the feeling for the rest of the week. I was productive & relaxed in a way that made me realize I forgot what either of those things felt like.

saw this post years ago and will never ever forget it. sometimes you need to tend to the place from which you create, before you can create again

Screenshot of a tumblr post by user aureliobooks that reads: My dad likes to call the stretches of time where you’re not creating “dreaming periods” and says that they’re meant to allow you to absorb all of the beauty, life, and inspiration from the things around you so that when you’re able to create again, you will have fanned your spark back into a flame. Sometimes its hard to see those moments as anything but stagnation, but he always says that they’re natural and healthy and needed—things that should be embraced rather than feared.

when I got laid off from Vice, I later found out that members of the c-suite had awarded themselves bonuses that were higher than my annual salary. I hope that answers your question.

Canadians, one of the most important things you can do is send a letter to your MP about this. This would be the end of privacy for Canadians: dontsurveil.me/c22.html

Canada is about to end private digital conversation — Bill C-22

Bill C-22 would force every messaging app in Canada to build a backdoor — and track all your activity for one year. Apple says no. Signal says they'll leave.

Job hunting in a hostile environment. ✨

A three panel comic done in mostly a blue-purple ink. Frame 1: The artist, a tired person with their hair in a bun and a bag on their shoulder standing in the awning of a bus shelter. There's an ad on it that says "STOP HIRING HUMANS", above a woman whose face has been replace with the word "AI".
Frame 2: The bus comes, it's wrapped in an ad that also says "STOP HIRING HUMANS." The artist has a blank look.
Frame 3: A plane has now arrived above the bus and the human. It's carrying an ad banner that also says "STOP HIRING HUMANS".

the nicest thing you can wish upon an artist in 2026 is that their work gains a small but dedicated cult following of kind hearted and politically shrewd weirdos & sickos that keep the fire going. the meanest thing you can wish upon an artist in 2026 is that their work gains a large online fandom

There was another crowdfunding campaign for an Animate alternative going viral recently. I have less information on what the end product will be like, but anything open source that can offer legitimate competition to Adobe is good. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tjp...

I'm trying to keep my excitement in check until the day when there's an official release, but this is so good. I have been waiting for something exactly like this to be made since Adobe switched to a subscription.

love how we killed the old, frail anti-nuke ayatollah just to have him replaced with his young, healthy son who wants nukes and who just had his father, mother, wife, and child murdered on the same day by his mortal enemy. surely this will bring peace to the region
