Covering the small boats 'deal' without referencing Macron's irrefutably accurate observation that blame for the 'crisis' lies with Brexit involves contortions so violent that the people doing it should be in a circus.

Macron’s line about pull factors is just complete nonsense too. 70% of people who came to the uk as asylum seekers in the last 20 years come from countries we colonised. Those ties + the fact we are a safe country that DESPERATELY NEEDS workers. That is why people come. #r4today

Radical? Lowering bills, reducing rents, defending our NHS, and refusing to arm genocide. The real radicals are in government - and the commentariat that “warns” you when we all dare to say: it doesn’t have to be like this.
Labour needs to take the radical left seriously. In Zack Polanski and Zarah Sultana, voters might soon have other places to go.

Also it’s worth pointing out that western leaders all virulently condemn and pursue charges against acts of antisemitism, but do essentially nothing to police Islamophobia and violence in Palestine, so I think a lot of people feel a need to focus on the latter to force balance to the agenda

I condemn this attack, violence against anyone based on their religion is wrong. I don’t subscribe to the view that someone should actively seek out and condemn much smaller-scale/isolated acts of violence against Jews before they are allowed to criticise the actions of the Israeli government though

1. One thing you need to realise about the British Establishment is that it uses clowns to express its deepest desires. People like Rod Liddle offer a kind of deniability - "lighten up, he's just having a laugh". But they deliver a closer representation of its truths than any sober editorial.

Today the order banning #PalestineAction as "terrorists" came into effect. But they are not terrorists. They are protesters trying to stop a genocide. This is a "first they came for ..." situation. Unless we stand in solidarity against this assault on our freedom, they will pick us off one by one.
