Just mailed in my mid-term ballot. Wasn't super straight forward and it did involve some bureaucracy, but it was worth it. If you're an American ex-pat like me, I implore you to leverage your absentee ballot for the mid-terms. It's not too late. Your vote is needed now more than ever.

Tarte Bourdaloue for @moodleysheepy.bsky.social Still working on tweaking this pate sablee recipe a bit, which is why the recipe isn't in the book yet, but this turned out too nice not to share

Since I immigrated to Canada I opted to only use my absentee ballot in US Federal elections because I didn't feel comfortable voting for politicians in a state where I no longer resided. Fuck all that now. Been working for the last week or so to make sure I can vote in the mid-terms.

Send me your stickers!! I'm replacing a cabinet that I used to place all my collected stickers over the last few years, so I need new stickers!

I feel like my shot has been improving this year. Reaction time needs work, but the velocity is up. Seems to have helped because I got a hat trick tonight :D 🏒🚨🚨🚨🏒

I come here every so often on Sunday mornings to just take a quiet breath and chill before the rest of the world wakes up. It's nice to have a little retreat so close by.

Over the weekend I made my way back to Michigan to leave flowers at graves, ending a 9 year journey that started when my dad passed and mom got sick, my brother also having passed in that time. I'm the only one left now, but I know I have my chosen family. I'm not alone.

Havent posted much recently. Breve and I have been renovating our entire home except one room. Just moved back in yesterday. Lots of work yet to do but we're past the hardest parts. Huge thanks to @sprocketdhusky.bsky.social for letting us crash at his place for 8 weeks so far. Pics soon!

Add Bruno Mars to the list. Easily one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Check him out if you get the chance, you won't be disappointed.

Given that I have some really big personal projects going on I was only able to spend one night at FE and almost passed on it entirely. But I'm really happy that I went. Was really great to reconnect with some folks I hadn't seen in a while. So many good vibes!!

I feel like I should post more, but really my life is pretty predictable. Play hockey, work, love my friends, make treats, and work out to avoid getting overly fat from the treats I make. Simple, but it's pretty great. I could be doing a lot worse.

It may not be a fancy cake or pastry, but the buttermilk biscuit makes for a part of my absolute favorite breakfast, the biscuit breakfast sandwich. I figured why not have one more less-than-healthy meal before getting started on burning off those holiday pounds.

A biscuit breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, fresh ground black pepper, a little bit of kewpie mayo, and sriracha.

Made really tasty banana bread by reducing released banana juice into a syrup first. Allowed for a really soft texture that wasn't too dense while also preserving all of that tasty banana flavor :9

Usually I try to stay out of the public political discourse. But after nearly a year of BS there is still something I can't wrap my head around. How is it that one country that holds 30% of the global wealth can claim that every other country on earth gave them a bad deal? Like... what?!
