This absolutely fantastic art showed up in a scroll this morning. Got me thinking about a #PuckingMutts piece, if I can locate the artist. Gotta sniff about....

Lovely evening for a walk. The full moon was certainly bright.

One day before I retire tho, there will be a V8 Nova or a Heavy Half Squarebody Chevy Pickup in the garage for my summer cruiser. Pop in some old mixed tape cassette and go for a trip back in time.

If there's any pleasantly unpredicted benefits of storing @cheekdots.bsky.social 's hot rod Jag here in the winter, is that it motivates me to keep a well inventoried and organised garage and workshop space. Heck, I even found my Bosch hammer drill ($$$) that I had forgotten about today! Win! :)

1962 or thereabouts Impala ragtop I spotted today at the bank. Lil rough around the edges, certainly not a trailer queen. But good on the owner for having a fun summer daily. 327 V8, powerglide on the column sport coupe. Can't ask for much better. :)

Rolling up on the very south side of 60, I feel alright about myself for a change. Is everything going perfect? Hardly...but there's plenty to be upbeat about. Hockey and gym bring a lot of positivity to the day to day. #selfcare

Been a long weekend of low mood. Trying to find a road out of it has been a challenge to say the least. Might just take myself out for lunch and treat myself. Just realized that my entire day yesterday ran on 2 cups of coffee and a toasted bagel. Need to do better.

Grabbed Ice at Canlan for a workout, and @crashkaiser.bsky.social joined me. Had a great time working on skills, plus some great tips to improve. Really looking forward to our tournament in October! It's going to be awesome! :) Thanks Crash for putting up with my mediocre ass for an hour! LOL!

Needed a reason to get out of the house this evening. Trains was as good as any... My usual haunt, MP16 CN Halton sub.

Made my folks Chef Shep's mushroom stew for dinner! Was a massive hit on a cool damp evening for sure. Thanks to best Shep @cheekdots.bsky.social for the recipe and run thru. :)

Now to wait for my red wolf adopted Pup son to show up for some father-son automotive work. Got the garage tidy while waiting, along with some wrenching on my old Sonata. That along with the morning workout skate, been an awesome day one of vacation so far. Cider one is tasting just fine! :)

Had a great workout this morning with @breve.dog and Crash horse this morning at Canlan. Lotsa shots on goal, and passing. Thanks for keeping this old doggo moving and tournament ready!

Light breakfast after a peaceful walk. Temps are cooler now, kinda reminds me that fall is coming. It's been nice to have this peaceful sorta zen happening now, after being on a emotional rollercoaster for years.

My Sunday power skating coach challenges me every skate, today was no different. So I ended up with a big parachute tied to my tail, and every drill was a "stand on the throttle" full out go. I gave it hell in every forward gear. Now my legs are absolutely trashed, worse than any leg day in memory

Weekends are supposed to be relaxing, or so I thought. I'm exhausted. Also , I really need to remind myself that comparison truly can be a thief of joy. *Goes to nap on sofa before dinner*

Really shouldn't have been surprised my skate today was hot garbage. Had a 2 week hiatus from the ice, and not much gym or running. Add in tons of parental care issues, and it was a lot of stress. Glad I have a dear friend in @cheekdots.bsky.social . Thanks for listening at the coffee shop. :)

Having bought Under Armour clothing online over the years, I routinely get emails from them. I usually just delete them, but lately they've been using Francois Arnaud of Heated Rivalry fame as 1 of their models. He's my new Internet crush. I would just melt if he hugged me. So drool worthy!!

The northern Ontario wildfires are so intense right now, that the smoke has made it's way down to the Greater Toronto area. My phone doesn't really capture how orange and hazy it is right now. The sun, when I can locate it, is a tiny orange dot.

Finding myself really craving some sorta change. Just no clue what I want tbh. Kinda wondered what a Queer eye makeover would feel like, and would I be brave enough to try. Guess maybe I'm tired of me...or something like that...

Laying on my sofa, full of dessert courtesy of @cheekdots.bsky.social . Really grateful for both he & his wonderful hubby @breve.dog 's friendship all these years. :) The house is going to be so oddly quiet once you head home to your newly refreshed space. Gonna miss ya both. Love n Hugs always!

GO Transit owes these old war horses a debt of gratitude. They helped build the commuter rail network GO has today, paving the way for the MP series locos and longer trains. Nice to see this one still in active service some 40 years on. Apparently some are getting new Metrolinx livery.

These DMU's for the Union-Pearson Express are the neatest thing. Unmistakably Cummins powered, with ZF (I think) final drives, they literally sound and feel like a highway coach on rails. A modern day Budd RDC car, without the signature 2 stroke screaming Jimmy's tho.

Taking the train into the city the other evening and I was able to catch a quick snap of the @rapidotrains.bsky.social fleet resting at Willowbrook yard. It's so cool to have these folks in the hobby. The absolute best in Canadian based model trains, and now full size stuff too! Thanks guys!

For my running/fitness following. I'm trying to actually start running. I went from interval stuff on the gym treadmill to actually running steady. This 10 min mile threshold seems impossible. Good shoes, light clothes, well hydrated. Can't seem to run well enough long enough. Any advice, thoughts?

Catch of the morning, while enjoying my morning walk. Vintage Cab car wearing spiffy new paint, and a vintage F59 providing power. Really cool this 59 survives to this day and still has no problem strutting her stuff in mainline commuter service 40 some years on. :)

Between beautiful weather, a talented Shep in the kitchen, Spot snugs and a great Wednesday skate (injury aside), it's been a great stretch of days off. Pretty morning, solid coffee, what else could a senior doggo want? :)
