Sabri's Sketchbook Silver is an Elastic Soul. In my travels, transformation, reconfiguration, even entire reality shifts are not as uncommon as you would think. Reality has a habit of homogenizing our expectations to maintain one stable constant. But there are a few rare figures who almost seemed designed for this correction. No matter what you do to them, after an allotted time, they are back to the status quo. Like a cartoon character meeting the credits of their show. Silver has always been a figure I've only sparingly engaged with, not because I have not enjoyed his services in the past, but merely because nothing I do sticks. I have witnessed Silver become a statue, a wind up toy, a self replicating army of clones, even parade floats and the vessel for emperors and bodysnatchers alike. And yet here he remains. Regardless of hypnosis, possession, or assimilation, he always comes back, unscathed. So how does it work? Does reality require people like him? is it a part of the cosmic order? Is there a true limit to the elasticity of his spirit? I decided to stress test this. Civix has proven to be indispensable ever since he somehow Managed to convince one of my conditioners to make him real. He is compelled to shape and sculpt others into whatever configuration that happens to be my whim at the time. Single minded. He's practically a living set of brainwashing protocols. He's transformed even the most timid and bashful figures into disciplined titans. If anyone can test this elastic soul to its limits, it would be him. When he shunts back, does he simply pop back into existence? does reality alter so that we never did so? or does a duplicate of him manifest and leaves his old self like shedding a skin? perhaps we'll get some answers. I have debated using the Mark of Imperius with him. But I will not sully the mark for the sake of my curiosity, nor will I ever. It's clear his journey requires he be unburdened by such things. Also what is up with that Imp Reboot that keeps following him around? Is he also an elastic soul or some kind of lesser chaos god? I can't get a read on that guy.

For example. Tektite took a little to get people to enjoy. While it's character design was inherently nondescript and genderless, the execution of personality and how it made drones was EXTREMELY popular to a select few. and it lent to some fascinating interpretations. it almost wasn't very fun.

That being said. I look at Cognizant now and realize I've got about 4 of these left before I run out of locations to base it around. It's far down the road, but it's something I think about. I also worry that I try SO hard to be 'original' that it makes the characters not as fun to do stuff with.

I've been drafting new characters for Hypnovember2026. One of the challenges I have doing that is I put a lot of arbitrary rules for myself. 1. Avoid repeats of concepts/species 2. No variant on something already existing 3. No OC of mine that I already established years ago. 4. No OC of furry.

He was starting to remember there were gaps in his memory. The times when he'd simply wake up in his bed, or right before a concert, he'd never question it before. For some reason the questions simply never occurred to him. It was Irrelevant to question the gaps before. Now he stood in a pool area he had no memory of entering. surrounded by strange rubbery orcas carrying on as if he wasn't there. faceless, bearing numbers and a triangle across their impressive pecs. They were playing volleyball in the pool, doing pushups on the side. making their way into private rooms to possibly play games or have some intimate time. It was the Recreation Center for the Drones in Master Darkwitt's Warehouse. Why was this information flowing so naturally to him? Now that he was feeling the ooze of the thermium he applied to his crotch spreading gradually up his belly, that strange haze was broken. He tugged fruitlessly at the suit. not only was it so tight against his body he couldn't pinch at it without grabbing his own skin, it seemed to swell with thickness once it applied. bulking up with layers and layers of thermium till his hand simply couldn't pinch hard enough to gain purchase. The haze was coming back as the quiet chant of the orca drones begun to whisper in his brain. slowly growing louder than his own internal monologue. Not loud enough to be uncomfortable, merely designed to quiet his usual thoughts in the first place. Leaving him incentivized to let his mouth hang, as the orca muzzle filled every orifice with thermium. smoothing over his features. He had no need to think. The network had everything prepared. all that was left for 1530 was to stand at attention and let the last of the thermium permeate every inch of his body until he was indistinguishable from the other drones.
