Apropos of nothing, some of my favorite animated stories (out of the US) came out of the last 5 years. The thing they have in common is that they’re so deeply personal, I can feel the storyteller in every choice. They’re stories that made me go “who is this even made for?!” but in the best way.

Things have definitely shifted to Fall in our yard. I haven’t had many flowers to give away this year because of slugs and Japanese beetles but I try to put out bouquets when I can. I do have lots of lettuce starts to give away tho!

Roses are almost completely in full bloom here, with the exception of a couple shrubs. I have yellow/hot colored roses out front and they’re becoming a neighborhood attraction ✨

My butter and eggs daffodils are popping off! They’re smaller than the other yellow doubles I have and so cute. Apparently this variety is a rare heirloom that dates back to 1777! 🌱
