🏫 Delighted that two schools in North East Leeds will be one of the first to offer one of Labour’s free breakfast clubs. 🥞 Free breakfast clubs will be available for young people at Carr Manor School and Dixons Trinity Academy. This will boost parents' work choices and children's life chances.

Today marks 80 years since Auschwitz was liberated. We remember the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust and all victims of the Nazis, including members of my own family. It’s a timely reminder of where antisemitism can lead and highlights why it must be stamped out.

Pleased to take part in a discussion on reform to the House of Lords. Being a member of either House is a privilege, not a birth right. Hereditary peers in the House of Lords is indefensible. In 2024, there cannot be seats reserved for those who were born into certain families.

🇽🇰 Over the weekend, I visited Kosovo. It was a pleasure to meet with the President and Ministers to discuss our shared economic and security interests. Stability in the Kosovo is essential to regional peace. This Labour Government takes the threats faced from rogue states seriously.

The truth about Labour's Budget and farmers

The change announced in the Budget will not impact the majority of farmers.

Estates worth up to £3 million could still be passed on by a couple completely free of inheritance tax.

Where inheritance tax does apply, farmers will still pay 50% less inheritance tax than everyone else.

Heirs can spread the payment over 10 years interest-free instead of having to pay it all at once.

The policy is about protecting smaller family farms while ensuring the wealthiest landowners pay their fair share.

Our public services need fixing and the wealthiest should be the ones who bear the greatest burden so we can do that.

Farmers will benefit from £5 billion being invested into farming over the next two years - the largest amount ever directed towards sustainable food production in our country's history.
