ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Would carve out an addendum for Nick Cave. Not everyone can pull it off. 120
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 23/09/2026So everyone walks around with a bottle of Olde E? 010
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Maybe everyone in the film will be drunk on malt liquor? 120
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Lesson: never piss off the accountant. They will go feral 141
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 19/09/2026I took as a parable; that underneath our differences lie deep commonalities that, if we could focus on, would lead to a better world. Wouldn't be the first time they did something like that: 110
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 09/09/2026I present... Jeff Goldblum in Buckaroo Bonsai! 020
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 30/08/2026The "graphic design is my passion" people have gotten even worse - now they're not even bothering to learn good design 160
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 28/08/2026Finished Amitav Ghosh's amazing "River of Smoke," the second book in his Ibis Trilogy, a set of historical novels set just before/during the Opium War. The book is an amazing slow burn - full of details and observations of daily life in 1838/39 Canton. Melancholy, 041
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 25/08/2026IIRC, Dan O'Bannon and John Carpenter referenced that film in various interviews. They wrote & directed (respectively) Dark Star, which has a suspiciously similar subplot to Alien. OBannon wrote the script for Alien. 030
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 25/08/2026This is probably why we got "Day of the Dolphin" but not "Day of the Cat" 020
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 22/08/2026Why oh why have I waited so long to discover Lost Girl, when I was so so happy about KillJoys? Anyway, what a fun show! 230
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 17/08/2026I don't know if this fits exactly, but Marvin Minsky - a real scientist as opposed to a hack - was studying common sense and emotion as part of his AI research. Published some general reader books on the topic. 310
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 12/08/2026Last week's reading: Herbert Simon's "The Sciences of the Artificial," 3rd edition. A well-put together book arguing for a systematic study of human-created work. I've been hearing about Simon for a long time - his influence is broad (psychology, comp sci, economics, poly sci, design). 010
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 10/08/2026I don't think so. The other side embraced being called "deplorable" a long time ago, and revel in whatever evil terrible shit the GOP or their thugs do. If the Dead Zone was made today, this would've ensured he was elected: 000
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 05/08/2026Yeah but what happened to Ice Cube and Chris Tucker? Were they not available for the sequel so they just cast these two and hoped no one would notice? 030
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 26/07/2026So we should all blame System of a Down for everything? 010
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 21/07/2026Matthew Modining the shields could lead to further flights of fancy 020
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 19/07/2026Don't forget this travesty: Marlon Brando in "Teahouse of the August Moon." 000
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 18/07/2026This week's read is the wildest book I've picked up in a while: Dengue Boy, by Michel Nieva. The main character is a giant mutant human-mosquito hybrid living in 2273 in a post climate change slum in Argentina, which is now mostly a chain of islands thanks to sea level rise. Then it gets weird. 040
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 15/07/2026Tim Curry has entered the chat. "Am I a joke to you?" 2110
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 14/07/2026Everyone is grieving - rightfully so - over losing Sam Neill. But please pour one out for Wai Ching Ho, wonderful Hong Kong actress who did it all - stage, film, tv - and also passed away this weekend. Go watch Greg Pak's "Robot Stories" to see some of her work. 010
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 07/07/2026I think the writers couldn't figure him out at first, but there were some solid episodes with him, and he definitely grew on me as the show went on. The actor is good 000
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 03/07/2026Always assumed Kyra was bi in both universes... 020

ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 16/06/2026The film wasn't great, but Eva Green killed it in The Golden Compass as Serafinna Pekkala 000
ChaoticSequence @chaoticsequence.bsky.social · 14/06/2026Is this the sequel to the original book? Do we find out JD is really a Grey? 010
