The rules are perfectly clear; I think the game is just difficult. But for a chess-based game, I think that's normal. I might just emphasize it more in my marketing so players aren't surprised.

The game ends if your commander (the king) dies. Otherwise, it depends on the different missions, so there isn't really a 'checkmate' system.

Basic rules stay: move 1 piece/turn following chess patterns (Lancer=Rook, Mage=Bishop), then AI plays. It diverges with RPG elements: passives, HP, move/attack range.

Progress on my small project. I’ve been working on the spell upgrade system. I finally went with a spell “personification” approach. Upgrading a spell doesn’t just increase its power, the player can choose between several upgrades like increasing damage, reducing AP cost, and more. #Devlog
