i can't put into words how deeply heartbroken i am. my long covid has stolen a lot from me, and this is another big one. i love streaming, i love sharing these experiences with you all, and i love the little community we've built together. i don't know when or if i will be able to to stream again.

it's no secret i was having a hard time keeping up a regular schedule before this, too. thus, indefinite hiatus. i need to take time to rest and manage my symptoms without feeling like i'm under deadline pressure to return, self-imposed or not.

i can barely tolerate looking at my phone screen, even with lowest backlight and heavy eye strain-reducing filters on. it has taken me eight days spread over six weeks to draft this thread. needless to say, streaming is off the table right now.

i spend my waking hours in a blindfold and heavy noise-cancelling ear muffs due to light and sound sensitivity, only looking at things for short times in dim light. my threshold for cognitive overwhelm is low. all of these things together make giving and receiving communication difficult.

new theory: homestuck was removed from igdb for technically not being a game. using some url sleuthing and the internet archive, i have figured out that i think this theory is correct?? there are nine saved pages under the url www.igdb.com/games/homest... although only the earliest two load properly

in this thread someone brought up that MOST of the game categories on twitch are taken from the internet game database www.igdb.com/about wherein if i search "homestuck," i get... exactly the four games that come up in a search for "homestuck" on twitch, and of course not the comic itself

after some searching i maybe should have done before i started i have come to the conclusion that nobody gets to speak to a real person thru twitch support except maybe partners if they're really lucky. this doesn't surprise me and i really should have just expected this to be the default experience
