Unfortunately, someday is not now. I hope no hospitals are involved and that you have congenial conditions for the post-experience recovery session.

One possibility for Dom is that it is an indication that the priest was a Benedictine as Dom is the title used by Benedictine monks (and Dame for nuns). In other columns, Dom probably does stand for Dominus.

Great work by Greg Sargent. We are, right now, deciding whether we want to be a land of giant concentration camps and ethnic cleanings. newrepublic.com/article/2060...

The next phase of ICE’s big ramp-up: a nationwide network of vast detention facilities. But guess what? Even parts of Red America are saying no.

This is more the info we needed. Support Ukraine no matter what. Give them the weapons. Give them the ammo. Let's pay Uncle Vlad back for Brexit and Trump.

For what it’s worth, I have receipts from c1930 from shops on “the Strand” & personal recollection of my grandparents using the definite article.

The original name c1000 was Strondway ie the road along the shore/beach. While the street sign says “Strand” to say “I was walking along Strand” sounds as odd to me as saying “I was walking along beach” - which is perhaps where “the” originates.

That sounds delicious. Do the cherries need to be fresh or can it be made with eg frozen or tinned?

This is stunning. Listen to this in Philadelphia. Thousands singing “Hey-Oh, we won’t be silent while our friends are gunned down.” Really listen to it.

Transphobes seem to think that trans people do have a choice & choose to follow an “agenda” After many iterations of how trans people “pretend” so they can sneak around women & gain sexual advantage, I have concluded that transphobes have peculiar & unfortunate fantasy lives.

You know, I'm not sure I ever really read the Pond Rules at our local nature preserve all that closely before
POND RULES:

No swimming, jumping or gallivanting.
Do not disturb the pond witch.
No fishing with dynamite.
Sacrifices to water gods on alternate Wednesdays only - NO EXCEPTIONS!
Taunt the crows at your own risk.
If a hand comes out of the water to beckon you, turn and walk away.
Do not feed the weretrout.
Is the water burning with cold unholy fire? Report it to the ranger!
They’re not ducks. Run.
Have fun!

I know little about human lactation but this happens in goats. My goatling Elvira has been a ‘maiden milker’ all year. I’ve milked about 1.4 litres from her daily. Then she got mastitis. No pus but her udder turned into hard lumps. We are on week 7 of treatment with intramammary tubes…

A few years ago, I watched a friend’s teenage son and his two friends eat four loaves of bread, an entire large pack of cheese and six packets of ham as “a snack”. Start the savings account now?

Something to emphasize--as muddled and contradictory as the Supreme Court decision is, it does not actually mandate that institutions must ban trans people from single-sex spaces. Public figures who have been alleging this are spreading misinformation in order to further a climate of hostility.

Seattle Times: Satellite photos show the Port of Seattle empty, with just one Chinese ship headed its way. After that, no more. The Port says that in years past, it annually supported over 121,000 jobs and generated $38 Billion in business revenue. Trump’s tariffs destroyed all that in 6 weeks.

Management speak/ word salad arrived in the civil service in the early 1990s. I remember my father, who retired in 1995, complaining about it in his last few years & ruthlessly refusing to accept any of it from his juniors.
