I replaced the marlin firmware on my 3D printer with klipper - and it's been a complete gamechanger. Printing has become fun again. klipper's default configuration is printing so much faster than anything I got from marlin. klipper3d.org #raspberrypi #3dprint

The age of the filing cabinet will make a return. Retro printers are going to surge again. We are going to need to keep paper copies of the current state of all our online financial and medical accounts - before the surge of AI bots in those institutions delete everything.

There have been a few airports recently reporting exactly 200kt winds in their METAR . 200 doesn't seem to be a good data point - is some metar generation software using 200 as a default value to signal an error ? If so - it shouldn't escape into the wild.

With almost all of the GDP growth in the US coming from the AI titans ; they have a major problem. None of their customers are growing at a level that supports the future revenue promises for the AI titans. The math simply doesn't compute.

If the AI Datacenter builders get all their land, and water, and power and backup generators, and redundant power distribution equipment, and fire suppression systems, and network equipment, and fibre cabling - they might think they are done Pretty sure they won't have enough redundant Internet

If you are a CFO, and wondering about what to do about your AI budgets - I can guarantee you that sitting back and waiting a year is a good strategy. AI is changing so fast - that anything you try now will likely be undone and then redone several times in a year.

Microsoft's new bitnet demo hallucinates badly. Here it thinks that Laminar Research's X-Plane flight simulator is some hybrid of a Microsoft and Open Source project. Hey Microsoft - also please stop naming your things after stuff the rest of the world created.

One of the reasons why AI code slop is so bad, is we are using agile methods. AI coding needs a resurrection of waterfall as the project management strategy

The wildfire evacuation color scheme will get people killed - Some regions use 'red' for prepare, and 'green' to signal "go, evacuate now", and other places are 'green' for prepare, and 'red' for "evacuate now". We might as well have different hydrant connectors - if we're going to ignore history

The 'we spotted something about your account' emails should come with a link that says "yes it was me" or "no it wasn't me" - so that the sender can gather stats to understand how useful those emails are. Yes Netflix - the new device is a known device in the account - but you won't ever know.

Datacenters aren't new. As soon as you build it, it becomes a legacy facility that you have to pay money to maintain. If investing in Datacenters made any sense, then all the existing datacenter providers would be rolling in cash. They aren't. Don't get pulled into the hype.

I tried VIGOLIUM (www.vigolium.com); and pointed at some of my websites. 100% of 12 HIGH findings were wildly inaccurate false positives. It was very confident in its findings. It injected a number, and assumed a reflection flaw when it saw it again in the output, when the number was a valid result.
